Silly surial bath question (may be little gross)

I was trying to talk my DH into the surial bath on the cruise and he brought up a good point. Does anyone know how (or if) they disinfect the rooms after each client? My husband got grossed out thinking about all the couples in there before who might be taking things into the X-rated stages. He's making jokes about bringing in a bottle of luminol and a blacklight to check things out first. Anyone ever asked this of the spa staff?
Thanks and sorry if I grossed anyone out!

That is exactly what the attendant does between guests - the service by the spa staff for the surial is really the preparation of the rooms for you.

We had the first appointment of the day, and the place was spotless. I would recommend booking the early morning appointment (I think it was 9am) - at first I was disappointed that this was one of the few times available, but in reality, it was a terrific way to start the day and would book that same time again.

As for the luminol and black light - ROFL! Oh my, I don't think I really want to know..... I'll just take the early morning appointment again, thank you!

I believe you can rest assured that they are thoroughly cleaned each time.

But to address your other thought...

A recent thread asked people to rate the various places where time away from the kids could be found, for intimacy. The surial bath ranked number one. ;)

I'll agree to that! We definitely made the most of our time in the surial bath. As a matter of fact, that's how I got my little souvenier!

And they made a commercial about that. Maybe it is more common that we'd think. Now wouldn't that make an interesting poll! LOL!

Thank you KarenTX. I had the exact same question, but I stilll have a year to wait. I always worry about germs, fluids, etc. in places that are my "home away from home." I'm glad to hear of the sterility! We hope to book a surial bath next year. Enjoy yours!!!

Piglet33 - so that's how "souveniers" are got on the ship!!!!

Congratulations and sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction!

The staff at the spa would make millions if they installed a little camera somewhere in the suriel bath.

I know my husband and I did our best to impress!

FYI - did you know that they allow up to 3 adults in the suriel bath???? Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmmm. I thought this was a family boat! :) ;)

Bless my virgin eyes. My husband and I did the surial and it was truly heavenly. No little souveneirs though!!! We were later in the day and it seemed very well cleaned. We were a little frustrated about the hard sell after we got out. Had the potential to ruin the relaxing experience!

Hubby and I have done the surial countless times, and we can vouch for that fact that it is very well cleaned (at least until we get done ;) ). I can be VERY fussy and I have never been worried in there. We have heard some interesting stories about mud "patterns" left behind. :jester:
I asked about the space for three once and was told out that families (for example, three sisters) will sometimes do it.

I have to ask--does the room get steamy? (I mean temperature-wise!!) ;) Sounds like something DH would enjoy, but I can't tolerate heat and humidity. (Saunas and jacuzzis make me pass out!) Would hate to get there and not be able to participate! ;)

It's funny y'all mentioned the Cruise commercial. DH and I joked that we were going to sue Disney for stealing our idea! ;)

That's exactly what we're hoping for from this trip!
Thanks for all the "cleaning" information. It's what I thought, DH just needed some reasurance. But that whole "3 sisters" thing...uummm ok! I guess I'm just not that close to my family!! ;)

You might also face the problem that I had where there is no steam at all. Then you won't have to worry about getting too hot. No danger of getting overheated from the water because that wasn't hot either. And yes, the mud is very difficult to remove without steam orwanting to stay in the cool water very long.

There, I said it again. Hated the surial and would never go back into that spa again. Yuck.

We loved it. DH and I got dirty in there . . . and I am not talking about the mud. hee hee ;)

We asked about the three seats too and we were told that we could take someone or another couple in with us.:teeth:

Our dd is hoping to talk her dh into a little souvenier with our upcoming family voyage! Everytime we see the commercial we chuckle to ourselves and think of her!

Here are my suggestions for the suriel bath..........
#1 Take a water-proof watch. If you are in the steam room "exfoliating" each other, you may not hear the 10 minute warning knock. Hubby and I worried about this!!!!!!!!!! Lucky for us....we were ok.

#2 The bath was VERY clean.........so DO THE BATH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We WILL do this again!
