Do you do anything to identify your hire car when on hols. I've got my brits guide and it suggested one of the aerial thingymaboba's. Just wondered what you do to identify your car in a parking lot.

Hi

If you use an aerial thingy make sure it's unusual - there are hundreds of mickeys in the parking lot!! Tie something sparkly on the top of the car aerial that's unusual - like some xmas tinsel or something. Also make sure you write the parking lot name and row number down as soon as you park and keep it somewhere safe. Even regular visitors still get lost - we have done on one occassion! :)

We always purchase an ariel topper - but everyone has them lol :)
Particularly Disney one's - but they can help.
We also write in our mobile/cell phones the area and number for example Minnie 3.
If you can't find your car in a Disney car park at the end of the day then cast members are brilliant at helping you locate it.
Good luck :thumbsup2

We never use anything as I dont want to be being lulled into not taking note of where we're parked - you really need to know your row at the parks as your car might find itself behind a truck from Texas.

When we go down the long line of similar cars DH just uses the remote and we look for the flashing lights.

Was thinking.... I had a black mickey head topper, but I could paint it with a scottish flag lol. Someone else said to use our phone camera's or our digital camera to take a picture if there is a row number or name so you remember it. I will never remember to do that.

The last couple of times we've been we used the key remote. Every time you pressed the lock button the horn beeped. ;)
Clever or what :dance3:

Someone we know leaves a voice memo on his phone.
We just remember the area and row number. Only ever forgotten once and that was this Xmas (memory going with age) and we went to the area and just kept pressing the remote until we heard it.

....until everyone does the same. We were in the MK car park and the place sounded like a flock of seagulls!:lmao:

I carry a little jotter in my handbag. Write the registration number in the front. Anytime I go to a park I write the name and number and also what side we are on. Works a treat:thumbsup2

The last time we went we had a key remote that opened the boot.....we just pressed the key and hey presto! up went the boot so we could easily see it. We just prayed that no-one elses boot remote was on the same frequency....it would have looked so funny if there were suddenly half a dozen boots opening at the same time...:rotfl:

We bought a magnetic sticker ( Lightning McQueen) and stuck it on the back of the car :thumbsup2

I should'nt really admit to this but last year in one of the parks there were 2 cars side by side with football pennants on their ariels. one was Millwall and the other Crystal Palace. temptation was too much and i had to swap them round:)

Don't mention this too the DW diane she would go ballistic:rotfl2:

it was funny at the time and hopefully they had come to the park together:rotfl:

Grovee,

You can get ariel topper in the shape of Mickey Mouse in the Scottish flag colours! Check out ebay before you go, or buy one on arrival.

We just tie some bright ribbon onto our ariel but this is not so easy to see at night!

Hope they saw the funny side.

we've done the digital photo of the parking area and row number which works fine at the parks, but at downtown disney we parked in the daylight with relatively few cars around. however, when we came back to the parking lot in the dark it was crowded with cars, so we pressed the panic button on the remote and followed the lights and noise - worked a treat! You have to be within about 6 feet of our vw golf here before it will pick up the signal!

I took a bit of red tinsel and tired it round the top of the ariel.

You can buy them at the UK Pavilion in Epcot

We have 2 flags of our local football time
which we put on the car

it is DS 8 job to remember which row we are in

Yes and we have lost the car
it was pouring down and we were in the middle of the parking lot
so we all just started dancing in the rain
finaliy one of the guard took us around until we found the car ,
