Silly Question for Women with Short hair..

So I am a big baby about getting ready. I want this vacation to be relaxed and casual. The problem is we plan on doing a lot of swimming and then going somewhere after that. I don't exactly have a haircut where I can just throw it into a ponytail or something. I know this might sound petty but my hair looks ridiculous if it is wet and just left to dry. I am thinking maybe a cute hat or something. HELP!!

I am in the same dilemma. I have short hair too and if i don't take the time to fix it it looks horrible. I'm going to go to walgreens this afternoon and get some different things to try to clip it up in different ways so that it looks like it is up or I could just wear a hat. but i'm not a big hat person.

You see many hats and caps on people at Disney, I think it is a good idea for touring and casual dinning! It is so laid back, I don't think you will feel out of place at all.

Hats are a good choice if not for hair emergencies but the sun even in winter or cloudy days can lead to abad sunburn.

A hat would work or get your hair cut really short. My hair is really short and I get sooo many compliments on how cute my hair is and how I look so good with short. When mine gets wet I just run my fingers in my hair to mess it up instead of laying down and I'm done.

I used to have really short hair, too. It's all grown out now, though.

Does your hairstyle look nice with a headband or scarf to push it back a bit? I used to do that all the time when I had it cut. Or, if you have a couple of minutes to primp before going out, can you slick it back or spike it up a bit with some gel? That can work really well on short hair, especially when it's wet.

Check your local drugstore, too- there are a lot of cute rhinestone/crystal bobby pins and tiny clips around now that you can use to clip it back and perk it up a bit.

Never thought I'd have this problem but I chopped 14 inches of hair off to donate for Wigs for Kids.

Now I'm wondering how I'm going to make it through the summer! This question also popped into my head when I thought about rides and such. I always just stuck my hair in a ponytail or french braid and was ready for anything.

A hat may be a pain if its windy or on faster rides.

I am thinking about cutting it shorter. It makes my face look a little too chubby. I do have some cute kerchiefs that I wear. I love short hair for everything but this!!!

We went last jan on our honeymoon and because I had it grown out for our wedding, I just through it into a ponytail!!

Slightly off topic. Do you guys think that short hair looks good or bad on a tall slightly (or more) pooh-sized person? I really need advice. My hair is just now long enough to put in ponytails etc and of course I am dying to cut it short short!! I just cant decide if it would emphasize my poohness or give me incentve to join the WISH board. Thanks!!!

I LOVE my short hair. If your familiar w/ Jamie Lee Curtis,it's the same cut.Soooo easy to do. Just a little bit of hair wax,onto my towel dry hair,and go! Personally, I think those of us who are over 35 ish and or,fluffy sized, should go shorter. I am currently a size 16,down from a 28 on our last trip. I just think if it's styled right,shorter hair looks better. Also,if your face is round,do NOT wear a "bob" cut,it just brings more attention to a fuller face.

I agree that Mickey ears, or some other fun Disney hat would be a great idea - and will help you get in the mood. Personally, though my hair is long, I try not to get it wet when swimming. You could go the other way, and try a swim cap, maybe.

My great aunt used to always say that after 30 you ( a female) should not wear your hair long. The way my hair looks lately it is either Disney cap full time or a short cut. Do you think I could get away with Mickey ears everyday at home?

I have long hair, because short hair, for me looks ridiculous and is way more of a problem. To each his own, I guess!

Either Gel or Mousse. Try them at home and see which one works easy enough that you can style your hair with your fingers! I cut my hair really really short (have it practically shaved in the back and on the sides and leave just enough on top to make it spikey or curly) its wash, and I put the gel or mousse in my hair wet fluff it up a little and go. I do this every summer and specially when I'm in WDW. Its so much easier! No blow drying or curling iron needed. Depending on the type of hair look for the gel or mousse you're more comfortable with. Using the gel or mousse also helps put back some moisture and strength back into your hair after the chlorine has gotten to it all day. HTH

Hmmm, same problem, opposite hair length. I had just below the shoulder hair that took FOREVER to dry and style (DH hates pony tails). A few years back I knew that my hair would be a time problem at WDW if we wanted to go out to dinner after a day at the pool. I cut my hair ultra short. I can blow it dry and style it in 5 minutes! I'd never ever let my hair grow long again. (and I'm in agreement with daisylove's aunt - grow old gracefully and cut your hair after 35).

I used to have short hair, now I have no hair. I would sincerely like to have some of your hair problems. On the plus side, I don't have to spend much time on combing it.

i have short hair as well and don't dig the way my hair looks if not styled in some way after it's wet. I have one of those small fold up travel hair dryers, a small brush and a travel size bottle of hairspray that i bring along with what ever clothes i will be changing into after the waterparks. i use the power outlet in the restrooms and blow my hair dry into a decent style. If swimming at the resort, i generally go back to my room to change and spruce up the doo a bit.
