Can you enter through this before World Showcase opens, or do you have to take the bus to the front (staying in Epcot resort)?

There is no bus to the front. You'll enter through IG and walk through the empty world showcase

They usually coordinate their opening with the front of the park, but there will inevitably be people at the big attractions before you arrive there, due to the extra walking time...We usually had to wait about 2 flights before we got on Soarin (3 if we wanted the front sometimes)
