Silly question about staying off site...

Okay had I read these boards before I booked I would definetly be staying on site, but we are not, we are staying at HIFS. We need the extra space as we are traveling with 3 kiddos, one of which is 9 months. Anyway, I had a ? about non-resort guests. I have seen several posts about riding the monorails and tour the other resorts or having lunch at the other resorts. Can off sites do this too? What about the water mouse thing. Okay I know the answer is probably NO but I just wanted to ask!

We have been to WDW 5 times so far this year. We always stay off-site because we can get a hotel within 1.5 miles of the maingate through Priceline for less than $30 a night. People on this board tend to be very loyal to staying on-site, but staying off-site is not as bad as they make it out to be. We have a 3 year old and a 15 month old, so we always go back to the hotel for an afternoon nap. It's not a hassle at all.

Anyone with a pass for the parks is welcome to use Disney transportation, including the resort monorail, to visit the resorts, restaurants, shops, etc.

I can't help you with the water mouse question.

In a word - yes!


You can do anything you like in the resorts except swim in the pools.


Technically, only on-site people can use Disney Transportation and they have the right to check resort ID but in all my years I've never been asked for it.

Actually, moinab is right. Anybody with a multi-day pass is entitled to use Disney transportation. Guests with a one-day ticket are entitled to use either the monorail or ferry to get to the Magic Kingdom as well.
