Silly Question about code

We scoured the internet looking for the best deal for our vacation next month. two years ago we booked via Expedia and got a fairly good deal -- stayed at WL.

This year we weighed all our options and found that going thru our airlines was a couple hundred dollars cheaper than going thru disney. So we booked our vacation for a week stay at WL, woods view.

A couple weeks later I read about the codes -- I normally only get them for Disneyland in the summer, so pretty much ignored them. I checked my old email and found a code for a certain percentage off our room rate, which would've saved us an additional $400. I just figured important lesson learned, now we know; however, someone has told me we could still call disney and use the code for the cheaper price. I'm thinking not...

You can still call and use your code if it's still valid and there is availability, but you can't do it with your airline company/TA reservation. You would have to book through Disney.

That's what I figured. A friend of mine insisted they'd been able to do so, but I don't think she understood that everything was booked as a package thru our airlines -- WL, airfare, WDW & US tickets....
