Silly ol' bear ~ THAT'S ME! I am new and so confused! I want to make this work!

Hi, I have just spend one hour on a couple of reward sites and I am sooooo confused.

MILESOURCE: I only have 1185 points cause I just started up. So far I have visited the site a couple days and done the QUICK FIX to get a few points. Other than applying for credit cards how do I start REALLY making points? PLEASE HELP SILLY OL' ME!

I just signed up with Disney Awards and My Points, still waiting for e-mails.

I'll go to SILVERCLICKS right now.

Can't figure out Search Cactus at all.

This seems like a lot of work and I'm not getting anywhere.

Please help, what am I doing wrong?

I see that you are now getting points for your next trip - just don't use the same travel Agent - LOL!!! Anyways, glad to hear the trip went ok after all the hustle and bustle before hand. Anyways, welcome to the rewards board. I find that it is a great place to get a little bit of a relief from the exchange rate we have to endure. Anyways, with the Milesource awards, you don't have to apply for anything. In fact, just doing click fix everyday allows you to get enough points in about 3 months to cash in for a $25 GC, but if you want to apply for all the Credit cards, that's up to you. Secondly, be careful with some awards programs because with some of them you can't redeem anything because you are not living in the US. I do Blink - very easy, but takes a while to get anything, Milesource, Disney Awards, Howhot, creations rewards, suzykats, funnymoney (very time consuming, but I think that by the time that I go on our trip next year, I should have enough for a $100 worth of stuff). I don't do silverclicks or search cactus - I find those one's are too difficult and not worth my time. So, just to give you a few. Am happy to hear that your husband is game for another trip to WDW!!!

The rewards programs don't have to be time consuming. Open up more than one window and do 2 at a time. I am lucky because I have cable modem and am able to do 2 or 3 at a time. Get to know the one's that you like. This board will help you with any problems that you encounter. I find that Bashful64, who is from Canada, is very helpful when I need questions answered from a canadian perspective. I also think that Maleficient is also very wonderful if you need any help. Also, post any problems and you will find that all the people on this board is after the same thing - saving a little bit of money for our next trip.

Again, I was so happy to hear that your trip went well - but sorry to hear about your first credit card bill ~ LOL!!! Anyways, good luck with all the programs.

hi SandraC and welcome to the rewards boards! There is a thread on this page
listing some of the whys and how to of the programs. Search Cactus is there!
You basically do a search...if an eye pops up next to the listed returns, you click on
that link, let it load for 20 secs. You can do twenty searches for forty cents
a day.( two cents an eye). If you find a good search word that gets you five or more eyes then
try to do a search about the same subject using a different word ( ie....career, school,
college, education will probably get you the same amount of eyes.) You can revisit
the same sites, but you must use a different search word to get there ( hope that
makes sense). For example today I typed in "Disney"....got four eyes and two of
them were related to Tarzan....so I typed in "Tarzan" right after and got those two
eyes. You will figure it out and if you need help as Chisjo said, just ask, everyone
here is wonderful. I remember reading your travel agent woes on the Canadian
Rewards board....heheheh...glad it worked out for you. Have a great day!
