I live in Richmond, BC. In Feb someone from the Stovebolter page (I know I'm not supposed to mention other sites on this page, but that's where we found the link to the firetruck, and no plugs for this site are intended in anyway). Someone from the forum found it on UsedVictoria, and thought some of the members of the forum might be interested in the truck, even though that person wasn't. My DH asked for pics, and since they looked good, decided that a road trip was in order to check it out. We had my mom take care of the kids, and went to check it out on Feb 27th. We fell in love with it, and DH drove it home that day. We've been slowly getting parts, and gear for it since, and is an ongoing work in progress. It runs, and it can be contankerous on cold starts. The story on it was that it was a Butler bros gravel truck for the first 2 years of it's life before the Saanich fire dept converted it to a pumper truck. They had it till 1977, when they sold it to the Will Point VFD, who used it till around 1993/1994. It was then decommissioned, and went into private ownership till we bought it. We love the old girl and have a menagerie of old and odd vehicles in our collection that are in various states of work. Consider us Canadian Rednecks. Have a great day!
