Silly marketing for the new Tide detergent!

I just saw the new Tide "HE" (for high efficiency). The label says it is specifically designed for "front and top-loading machines".

Excuse me..... but.... what other kind of machines are there?!?!?!

I guess I'll have to finally replace that ringer washer in the laundry room. My new Tide just won't work in it!

I love that sort of "marketing". Like the instruction manuals for hair dryers that say you shouldn't use it while sleeping. Gee, if I could pull that one off, I could sleep in longer in the mornings!!

The instruction manual that came with my blender said, "Not to be used for the other use." Um, okaaaaay....

Well, you know, up till about 8 years ago we still had a ringer washer, at my Dad's, not my Mom's, I hated using it.

Actually there IS a type of washer called "high efficiency" that is designed to work with less detergent, because the washers use much less water. Those can be both front and top loading. The "HE" in the label refers to being specifically made for high efficiency washers.

But I understand your confusion.
