OK am gearing up for Oct. 2004 trip and the one thing my DH wants to really do is the HDD. Have they added back the 5:30 show or actually what are the times again? and do you have to already have a reservation at the hotels or can you trust make a ressie? My son is very sound sensitive so we want to make a request to sit on the sides of the buulding I don't even care how up front actually the further back the better. I know CRO can't guarantee anything but they've never let me down before.

when i called to make ressies for our trip in august we were told that there is a 5:30, 7:15, and a 9:30. i could be slightly off on these times because i didn't write them down, but there were definately three shows offered. i'm not sure if they cut back to only 2 shows during the off-season. you don't need a resrevation at the hotels to get a resrevation for hdd. have fun! :)

Thank you so much. Have a great trip next month caitycaity!

I actually think when they cut back to only two shows it was the late show they cut? Any way you do not have to be a resort guest to make a reservation as far as I know. When you make your reservation explain your son's sensitivity. I believe you will be accomodated.

We actually did HDDR last Sun and our show was 5:00. Then 7:15 and 9:30

We were at the HDD in early October in 2001. They were still running three shows per evening.

Hi there,

How old is your Son?

I did not find HDD really loud at all...usually it's just the piano playing along ~ what a fun show :)

>>^..^<<

We are going in Nov. this year and we booked HDD for the 5pm showing.. there are still 3 shows!(thank goodness DS probably wouldn't last for the later shows...)
Happy Planning for that Oct 2004 Trip s&k'smom!

Hey guys thanks so much for the info. I actually called yesterday to make a ressie but didn't have my CC number (I cut it up) so I had to go home and get the number. anyway they did still have the 5pm show so I'm calling back today to get in early. My son is going to be 8 when we go but he is mildly autistic and very sensitive to sound. But we taped the WL episode on the travel channel and we did take him last year so he is familiar with WDW. I have found the CM's so accomodating that I have no fear he will be well taken care of for the HDD. My theory is I'd rather try and fail then not try at all. And can yeah tell I love to plan!

If you want to be a little further away from the going ons but still have a good view, ask for a table upstairs and let your server know that your son is sensitive to noise.

They SLAM!!! the first bucket with food on the table and it's really startling.

Hi guys just a quick update. I called CRO yesterday and made our ressie. The CM was very nice and took down my concerns and made a note of them on the ressie. I felt much better being able to do that. Thanks for all your helpful hints I truly appreciate them. Great idea ga9497!

I was there a month ago and towards the end they gave each table washboards to make noise with. That got pretty darn loud.

I just returned from WDW and saw the HDDR. It is a great show that is not too loud until the washboards at the end . I have a son who also is sound sensitive but being able to make the noise himself is always a big help. Enjoy the show and the joy it will bring your son.

Heidi

Thanks you guys, the washboards I had comepletely forgot about but I think he would love to do that. I can't wait!
