Silly ADR question RE: Party Size

I am a bit embarrassed to have to ask this question as I typically consider myself pretty well versed in Disney do's and don'ts after 10+ trips, but our upcoming trip is our first with an infant. We are a party of 4 - 2 adults, 1 Disney adult, and 1 baby. When I make my ADR's, should I be booking tables for 3 or 4?

My initial assumption was a table for 4 since that is really how many of us there are. However, my infant doesn't "count" in any other aspect of our reservations - room occupancy, tickets, FP+, etc., so then I started thinking maybe I should be booking ADR's for 3. I really only care for 2 reasons:

1. We have a couple of reservations that require dining plan holds and I don't know if they are holding 4 credits or 3 - I don't want them holding a credit for the baby when he doesn't have any entitlements to begin with.

2. I can get a table of 3 at BOG on the perfect date at the perfect time, but I don't want to show up with the baby and not be seated.

Perhaps I am over-thinking this and it doesn't matter so much either way as the likelihood we will be seated at a 4 top as a party of 3 is great. We have gone down in the number in the past and have never had a problem but have never run into this.

Any insights? TIA!

Table for 3 will use a table for 4 so I am not sure that matters but you could call and ask. Otherwise, book for 4 to be safe

You book for 4. When you do it with MDE they ask for the guests name and if you have your info already setup they will know about the infant. Reservation is always for amount of guests for fire code reasons.

They aren't actually "holding" your credits. If this is in reference to using dining plan credits for CRT or one of the dinner shows, you can make your reservations using the credits, but they are not deducted until you actually show up at the restaurant or pick up the tickets.

When making dining reservations everyone - no matter how young, whether eating or not - should be included because of fire and safety code regulations. Also, as a party of 3 we have been seated at a 3 top in some restaurants (e.g. 'Ohana and Boma).
