Silliest/Stupidest question youve ever heard asked at Disney?

I was once asked to answer some questions about the parks by this woman with a small hand held computer outside MK.

Woman: Where are you from?
Me: Denmark.... (woman looking at her computer)... Europe... (She is still looking)
Woman: In what part of the US is the state of Denmark???
Me: I'm not from the US... Denmark is in Europe
Woman: (Still trying to find Denmark on a map of the US) Can you show me???
Me: This is a map of the US, I'm from Europe.
Woman: Ahhhh ok, we will skip that question then.

I know a lot of people don't know Denmark, but I guess most Americans knows the name of the states... or????

"Oh, no way! I'm not going on Maelstrom! I don't want to get wet!!!"

:lmao: I still enjoy looking behind the boat as we enter the room with the view outside. I'll always either do something like "Oh-uh!" and grab ahold of something.... or say something like "Oh boy! Get ready!" and then sit with my hands straight up.

The looks on the other people's faces when they look out and see an opening in the building that looks like we are headed for a drop can be priceless! :lmao::lmao:

Not a real "silly question" but did you ever notice that nobody asks "Where is the furthest restroom?"

Note to self.... Ask a CM that next time I'm at the parks....

I love threads tailor-made for a demotivator:

I've always loved that one. It's been my favorite for years.

I particularly like the "Does the ship generate it's own power" one. Man, that would be one HECK of a long extension cord!!!! :lmao:

Sayhello

Just remember, You need to make sure the cord doesn't get wet. Water and Electricity don't mix!

Sadly.... This doesn't surprise me. I still remember the story that came around the '96 olympics. Someone from New Mexico called to try and get tickets to the games, and was told they could order tickets from the US callcenter and needed to contact "their country's ticket office". What was even worse, was that it was supposedly escalated to a supervisor who said the same thing.

Who doesn't know Denmark? It is where Legos and breakfast pastry comes from :goodvibes

To be honest though I am not all that surprised. I know quite a few people who probably couldn't fill in the blanks if they were presented a map of Europe.

That's right, Lego and pastry, and the story of The Little Mermaid are from my little country :-)

I fully understand that a lot of Americans can't place the countries in Eurpoe, but a map of the States??? But then I know people who doesn't know the cities in Europe. I work in an airport and my colleague asked me the other day "WHAT is Milan"... I told her that it is a city in Italy and she went "oh, really." I would expect all Europeans to know this.

:) I asked a CM from South Africa at AKV what her craziest question was. She said "someone asked me if I liked wearing shoes since being in America"--you know they don't have shoes in South Africa....:rotfl2:

Not knowing about Milan is a bit strange. It isn't like Milan is some small back-water town in Slovenia or something. As for the map of the states I would bet if you randomly grabbed 100 Americans and handed them a map with the states but no names and asked them to fill it in the majority wouldn't get all 50 right.

OK, that's really bad. :sad2:

I'm from Kansas, and I still sometimes get question on whether I've been involved an Indian raid. :confused3:confused3:confused3

some of my friends from west virginia have gotten this one as well.

(as well as other questions about "the western part of virginia" since WV isn't really its own state.)

Well...there are those "square states"....

The "square states"... not so hard to figure out. there are only so many of them.

The tricky ones are all those states jumbled together up in the northeast.

I'm from Kansas too and when I was a teenager (hundreds of years ago), a family moved here and thier teenage daughters enrolled in my school. I became friends with them and they said that as they were driving into Kansas they expected to see wagon trains. LOL

Well you do don't you.....just like us Canadians ;)

I thought Canadians had polar bears in the front yard? :rotfl2:

I have got that one too... snicker. shrug. ;)

I work at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and we have had people ask for information to be a student, who thought Alaska was near California ... because of the maps they showed on TV with AK cut out and placed down there to show all the U.S. ... and got freaked out when they learned we had cold and snow.

I'm from Kansas too! I met some folks from England one time and they asked 1) if I drove my tractor to school and 2) if I see buffalo a lot.

Funny thing is, I have a friend from western KS and she DID drive her tractor to school!!!

I agree. I think I'd be ok with a map of the 50 except for VT and NH. Don't know which is which there......

That's easy (of course I live in New England), Vermont abuts NY and New Hampshire abuts Maine.
