Where do you get them done? How long does it take? How much does it cost? Do you make a reservation or wait in line? How long is the wait in line? What if you have a wiggly toddler? Any other info you want to give me about the silhouettes?

Thank you!!! :)

we had this done a few years ago so i'll answer what i can. there is a small shop on main street. it is (or was) on the right hand side of the street as you are walking towards the castle. i believe it was pretty much towards the end of the street. i can't quite remember the cost but i think it was like $15 or so….i remember being surprised that it wasn't more. she did both of my girls in about 10 minutes. we didn't have to wait in a line, got lucky on this one i guess. i think it's an awesome souvenir - we still have them hanging in our living room. :)

It is still in the little shop at the right end of main street. It's very quick, even if there is a line. I think waiting in line (we were third) it took maybe 15 minutes. She was very good with squiggly kids :)

Thank you! Does anyone know what the hours are? Does it open & close the same time as the park or does it have different hours?

We were just there in Feb. and had a silhouette done of my daughter who was 14 months old. We had no wait and it took her just a few minutes to complete! She did great with my wiggly daughter :) And yes, like the previous poster stated, its a little shop on Main St. on the right hand side heading towards the castle and they are open the same hours as the rest of the shops on Main St. (at least they were for our 5 day visit in Feb) We absolutely love ours and are so happy we had it done. It was so worth it!
You get two copies of the silhouette and an option to purchase the frame for it. They were sold out of the oval frames when we were there so I just got the two copies of the silhouette and purchased a frame at home. They gave me a phone numbe to order one if I wanted once I got home but I am happy with the one I found! I think it was $9 we paid for my daughter's and we got two. I believe the frames were $10.

I have a bare spot on my living room walls... I've been trying to find something to fit. I think this will be just the thing. Can't wait to have my littles silhouettes made. :thumbsup2

We went mid day- we went at opening and that part of the store was roped off, not sure about the official hours.

Can they do these from photographs? Would love to get them of my grandchildren to surprise my step daughter with?
If so do I need a side on photo?

If you go into the shop and a younger person is working, walk away and come back a different time. You want the woman who looks like a grandmother. The older ones who work at the shop have been doing it for a long time and their work is top notch.

I think the older woman's name is Sylvia. We had DS's done last year and I made a comment that I'd had mine done when I was around his age, 5. She said she would have been the one who did it because she's been doing them for over 30 years! She was awesome, very quick and friendly.

We had our kids down when they were 2, 5 and 7. It was very easy, my husband held our two year old on his lap because we were worried about her wiggling, but they did it very quickly. We did it in the evening and there was no line, start to finish for all three kids was probably 15-20 minutes! We had an older gentleman doing ours.

Yes, from a profile photo. I got my three girls done. One was in the shop with me, the other two were back at the hotel with daddy and he texted me photos. He got a photo of the baby napping and that's what was used for hers! I also got one done for a friend who's youngest hadn't yet been born when she had her kids done, she sent a photo with me.

Not only photographs, but from images on your phone too. Profile images are best, but can be done otherwise as well.
Sylvia is one of the full time silhouette artists. She has been working for Disneyland since 1979 at the Silhouette Studio on Main Street. And is an extremely popular artist that is highly sought after for her expertise, keen eye, and talent. Her friendliness, customer service and kind manner are hallmark qualities that she possesses as well. I finally had several silhouettes created last year, and made it a point to have her make them.
Currently, the price is $9.45 per silhouette, which does include a mirror image, so two images for the one price. There are two different sizes for the frames: the mini for $8.95 and the regular sized frame for $11.95.
I have been meaning to upload some pictures that I took last December of my visit. I just might manage to finally do that a bit later.

How hard would they laugh at me if I brought in a picture of my cat? Would they do it? I thought I read on here once that someone had them do one from a picture of their dog.

Theresa, Sylvia's co-worker. She works with matting and framing.

They would not laugh at you at all. They have received many requests for dogs, cats and I hear even a mouse and ;) People with their pets too. For as long as the image is as near profile as can be, for that makes it easier to really get as much detail as possible for the artist. Have fun with it!

To add: in the images, the tiny frame is the mini and the other frames are the regular or large size frames.

Cool! Thanks for the info!

Sylvia did our kiddo's silhouettes quite a few years back & this coming trip I hope to have her do our dear Abbie (boxer/dog), who passed away last year. I have read that they definitely do pet silhouettes from profile pictures. I hope they don't laugh at me!! :)
