Silhouette Artist?

Has anyone had a silhouette artist at their wedding or vow renewal? How much does it cost and how long do they stay? I was thinking of having one and having that be the favors for our guests.

We had Kathryn Flocken, a silhouette artist in the Orlando area at our wedding. She was great, and our guests loved it. She would simultaneously cut two silhouettes, so the guest would get one (in a 5x7 card) and she saved one for us. So...whenever I get around to scrapbooking, I have silhouettes of all our guests!

She charged us $500 for 3 hours (which was more than plenty for 65 guests)

That would be a cool addition to your wedding album! Selfish as it may be, Id like a siloutte of me and my hubby! Having them of the guests would be a bonus!

So, she was not affiliated with DFTW? I didn't know you could hire someone outside of Disney for a Silhouette artist. Do you know if that is allowed at all venues not in a park? How did you find that artist?

I actually ran into her working at DTD when I was there on my PS! I think they hire them as contractors, even though they're working in the parks. I'm not sure about whether she's allowed in the parks (if you have a reception in Epcot, or whatever), but you could ask her. She'd know for sure.

My reception is in the Whitehall room. I got a price back from Disney and it is double what you paid! Did your artist provide anything for your guests to hold the silhouette in? Do you mind PM'ing me your artists info if you still have it?

Forgot to mention that she provided a 5X7 cardstock "card" that had a spot to put the silhouette in, but then folded over it to protect it. She did have frames to offer for $7 a piece, but we opted against these.

You're right. It is an outside company. They also own the people who draw cartoon images of you and the balloons, believe it or not. I forget the name of the company. DF may remember. For DF's proposal to me, he had us sit for an hour and a half while one of the people who draw cartoon images of you off of Main Street drew us. He was very friendly and talkative and told us how he was not employed by Disney, but by a different company that Disney hires.

There is a really nice guy that also does them that I ran into at DTD. His website is Icutyouout.com. Not sure how much he charges but he did a great job for me and my boyfriends Silhouette. I'm sure if you emailed him he would be able to quote you a price! good luck
