My nearly 8 y/o DS who has just finished the 1st grade has really struggled with math. All the rest of the subjects he's gotten A's & B's but Math....I dread to see the report card tomorrow. I am hoping for a D+!
One of his (private school) teacher's sent home a flyer advertising tutoring help for summer at $30 an hour (OUCH!) Through our Community Public School District they are offering Math for 4 days per week, 1.5 hours each day for 5 weeks at $145. I thought that was fair & we're signing him up. Poor little guy is not happy but what can you do? I hate to see him struggle next year.
Anyone have any thoughts on how I can make this a more positive experience for him? (Especially when I feel so sad that the poor kid has to go to summer school!!
