Do you guys just sign the contract away or try to change some of the terms you don't agree?

Thanks.

If you don't like the terms, don't sign the contract. But just be aware that they are not going to change any of the standard contract terms for you. You have control over how many points you're buying, the length of your financing contract and whether or not you do direct debit for financing and/or maintenence fees. Otherwise all contracts for the same phase of the same resort will be identical.

I am curious, what provisions don't you agree with? I don't imagine that they would change any of the standard provisions like contract length (49 yrs), ROFR for Disney or other such stuff. But I don't imagine that you object to anythign like that. DVD needs to keep the contracts pretty much identical, give the number of member contracts it has.

Good luck!

Thank you for your response. I'm just inquiring to see if anyone had done anything different.

Every so often some asks this, and the answer has - IIRC - always been "no". You might want to give it a shot, though - try crossing out the 50 and replacing it with 100 (initialling it, of course) for the length of the contract at SSR. :)

You can TRY to change the terms if you want to. You'll at least make someone laugh!

Kidding aside, Disney's contracts are take-it-or-leave-it things. There is no negotiating. I know it is kind of strange, when dealing in real estate, that there isn't at least some give and take, but in this case there is none, zero, nada, period. I was a little bit taken aback by this myself. Once I accepted it though, was sort of relieved. It sure made the whole thing simpler and easier than other real estate contracts I've been involved with. Read the contract, sign it, hand over the check and your done!

Liked it so well I've been back twice more! And I have the feeling there's at least one more in our future.....
