signed pillowcase pics?

Hi, I was wondering, those of you who have gotten pillowcases signed, did you have them personalized beforehand, or you just use a plain white pillowcase? I want to embroider a pillowcase before we go on the cruise, but am not sure where to put the embroidery, as it will be DS's pillowcase for his bed. Thanks!

I'd love to share mine with you! We purchased ours from the same designer on Ebay that designed our FE for us! She did a great job on both! We took colored Sharpies for the characters to use. Dropped it off at Guest Services the first night and they delivered it to the stateroom after all the characters signed it! You can pick and choose which specific characters or you can just have all of them sign. It was really pretty neat! This was our 7th DCL cruise, but hadn't heard about the option to leave an item at Guest Services to have characters sign! Guess it's a "best kept secret"!!

On our last cruise, I prewashed the cases and hid them in our luggage. One night we carefully put them on our kids' pillows without waking them. In the morning they woke up and thought Tinkerbell had magically delivered the personalized cases to them. (Tink has some pretty amazing powers) They loved them!

Another vote for her work. I have used her 2x for a total of 6 pillowcases. They are so cute! I did find the second time through that prewashing is a good idea and sharpies worked better than fabric markers.

Now I just need to come up with some more things to drop off. We really dont need another pillowcase. ( I have done a photo mat too)

We didn't have anything embroidered on them. I just wrote my girls' names on the big 2 inch edge and put a mickey head on each side of their names. However in retrospect I should have used fabric markers and not sharpies. Even though they are permanent I find that the names are becoming frayed.

You can find all sorts of cool graphics on the DISigners thread here on Disboards! I just printed mine on my printer, laminated them, and put magnets on the back. Easy, fun, cheap!

Just be sure to read through each of the DISigner's rules before requesting a personalization or using their graphics. Each one of them usually have their own way that they'd prefer you contact them or request designs. These are just a great group of super-talented DIS'ers who offer their designs for your personal use, free of charge (not to be used to make a profit)!
