Signatures On or Off

Do you have signatures turned on or off?? Why?

On. I could not imagine DIS'ing without them, they are an insight into the people we talk with here, along with being very informative in many cases.

I have signatures on, sometimes I recognize people just from their signature, even before I read the name and I like that.

I enjoy the signatures, I just don't enjoy it when the whole first page of a thread is one poster and their signature!!

There are very few like that though- so I guess my rant isn't too directional.........

I turn them off at work but turn them right back on when I get home.

I normally have them off so things can load faster. I turn them back on occasionally. I do like to see what people have for their siggies.

I guess I need to get a personality.

I have them on for the same reason that Dan mentioned. They do in fact give you a little glimpse into the person who is posting.

But like Flower, it can be a bit of overkill if a poster has such a large signature that it takes up most of the screen.

On. I only read the poster's name in the profile if there is no signature or if it's one that I don't recognize. I frequently read the whole post before I know who wrote it.

Even though I'm still on an old fashioned dial up, on for me too! It adds color and personality to the boards.
