We are tentatively planning a June 2013 trip right now. We most likely will not be on the dining plan, unless by chance a free dining promotion is offered instead of a possible room discount. We normally do a regular table service meal every night (or 1 TS credit) but we usually pick one signature meal every trip. Out of the following signature restaurants, which would you choose, if you could only choose one.

California Grill, Citricos, Flying Fish Cafe, Shula's Steakhouse, Todd English's bluezoo, and Yachtsman Steakhouse.

We ate at Artist Point last trip, and while we loved it, we prefer to try something different. Narcoossee's was rather disappointing when we ate there in 2010.

I'm sorry to hear that you found Narcoossee's disappointing because I've always had an excellent meal there. The food is excellent and the service is outstanding.

Of the ones you've listed, it kind of depends on your tastes and who's in your party.

California Grill - assuming the menu doesn't substantially chage after the refurb, the food is very good and the view of Wishes is amazing.

Citricos - my experience was out of the normal here, so I'm hoping to give it a second chance because the first was not good. The food was okay, but the service was very slow and the food arrived at the table lukewarm.

Flying Fish - I loved the decor and the food was very good. The menu is pretty seafood heavy, so if you like seafood this is a good choice.

I haven't eaten at the others on your list. So of these three, I would either go with California Grill or Flying Fish.

Cali Grill is going to be closed from this January to some time in the summer, so not sure if it will be open in June. Also, I didn't think Shula's was part of thr DDP unless something changes for 2013 http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningdetail.cfm?restaurant.ID=218.

That being said, my choice would probably be Wolfgang Puck's dining room or the Yachtsman if Cali Grill is not open yet. if Cali Grill is open, I would reservations there early enough so that you are done with dinner by the time Wishes start and watch Wishes from the observation deck.

Yachtsman :)

It's hard for me to say which one is the best because I haven't been to all of these restaurants so it's really not fair to say what "the best."

Anyway, I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

I have a personal preference for Citricos. Have been there four times and always have had a fantastic experience. In fact, my 2009 trip to Citricos was stellar in every way.

While Cali Grill and Citricos both serve steak, if steak is what you're after I think you should choose between Shula's and Yachtsman. If it's seafood, go for Flying Fish.

After that, I would just look at all the menus and see which one jumps out at you.

Thanks for all the replies. It appears the Cali Grill refurb is until "late summer" and since we are going the first week in June that's most likely out of the picture.

I've dined at all on your list several times and in my opinion, the restaurants at the Swan/Dolphin are consistently better. I believe most people on the dis do not select them because they've never tried them.

I prefer bluezoo because I'm not a huge red meat eater but if you are interested in a great steak, Shulas is going to be the best you will get on WDW property.

These restaurants have a nice adult type atmosphere and I've never experienced anything less than excellent service at either of them.

We've been to Artist Point, Flying Fish and Yachtsman, all at least twice in the last 3 years. Yachtsman was fine the first time but a huge disappointment the second (and for us, last time.) I'm planning on booking both AP & FF when my ADR window opens in 8 days. Flying Fish has a wonderful signature steak on their menu in addition to the great seafood. We haven't been to the others. One trip we finally scored a CA Grill ADR but were notified about a month before our trip that a private party booked the entire restaurant that night and we had to re-book somewhere else. It sounds like we really need to check out the restaurants at The Swan & Dolphin.

Not a California Grill fan. I've been several times. Service great, but food o.k. If you want a casual feel with decent steaks,go for Shula's. If you want a little more upscale, Citrico's. My number one choice would definitely be Bluezoo:)

Out of your choices, Yachtsman Steakhouse is the only one we've eaten at and it was amazing :thumbsup2.
