Signature Dining - Cali Grill or Yachtsman?

We LOVE Flying Fish so will do that one night as Signature Dining but I wanted one more Signature Dining this trip. Never been to either Cali or Yachtsman. Which is better? we will be there in mid August on a "non park day"...Thanks

The food and service at both are quite good. The Cal Grill menu is more interesting to me, but you also can't go wrong with the standard steakhouse menu at Yachtsman. That being said, I prefer Yachtsman because of its more quiet, relaxed atmosphere. Cal Grill turns into a loud zoo in the evening, as lots of families loiter around tables hoping to see the fireworks.

Thank you! Good point about noise, etc...we are staying at YC so Yachtsman SEEMED like logical choice but I am trying to think outside the box on this trip for different things I normally wouldn't do...Liking Yachtsman. thanks!

Yes, it's fine - went in 09 with our 3 kids and 2 nieces and they even gave them their own separate kids table (it was their idea, not ours). This worked out fine.

Also, it was a fantastic meal - recomend it highly.

We've been to both in the last 2 years and we prefer YS. We loved the food, everyone was so friendly. We had our DDs ages 8 and 6 and they were fine...great menu and there were definitely other kids there as well. They were 7 &5 when we went to CG so they were fine there also. The thing that bugged me about CG was that it was SO long..we were there over 1.5 hours. It wasn't just the kids...I was tired of sitting there and just ready to go.

you just put my 2 favorite signatures up against one another. both are great... but i have an attachment to yachtsman. i think with kids, yachtsman is the winner. if you had a romantic date night... then cali grill. you won't be disappointed by either. if you choose yachtsman... ask for oscar! you'll get amazing service for sure! hopefully he's there when we go on March 18th!!

My young kids love the Yachtsmen we sometimes dine their twice. Their favorite mac and cheese and chocolate puzzle. My kids are now considered adults and they will still order the same things. We have always had great service and great meals.

Yay! I'm excited to see some love for the Yachtsman! I've never been but the boyfriend wants a good steak this trip, and their menu seems like the place to go. Since everyone is always comparing it to Le Cellier (no way to get an ADR there) I was starting to wonder if I had made a bad choice. Looking forward to it even more now =]

I love both the Cali Grill and Yachtsman and is very difficult to chose between the two. But if I couldn't do both, it would be Yachtsman. And with you staying at the YC and a non park day helps make that decision easier. This could be your day to enjoy DTD and then the Boardwalk after eating.

I can't comment on Cali Grill as we will be trying it for the first time in August , but we LOVED Yachtsman......the food was awesome and the service was excellent .

If you think you're going to order a steak then I would go with YSH...if you're a seafood, suishi, cheese plate type ie. looking for more interesting choices definitely CG.
