Signature creation - Link not showing in account details

Hello,

I'm reasonably tech savy and have poked every hole I can see, but I'm missing something. Do I need to post a certain amount of times before I can create a signature? I've seen folks mention just clicking on your display name in the upper right corner and then clicking on signature. But I don't have that option.
