Hey,

I just heard that you have to sign up for an appointment to meet a princess a the princess pavilion? Does anyone know if this is true?

sometimes they run a pre-queue for the princess pavilion - ie you queue outside the pavilion to be given timed tickets for going inside the pavilion. It cuts down the wait time inside the pavilion - but you can still be queueing for an hour to get the timed ticket in the outside queue (near the old windmill practically next to the princess pavilion entrance).

Yes during the peak seasons you will need to collect a ticket from the Old Mill in Fantasyland. Check the times on the sign next to the Old Mill as this will let you know the times that tickets are being issued.

You will need to take your park tickets with you to collect the princess tickets. They were recently being issued at 10.30, 11.45, 13.45 and 16.45.

I've read in a few trip reports that there's no queue to get a ticket in the afternoons, but your slot could be late, around 7pm

Ok, this is how it works. They start to give out time slots from 10am.You must queue to the right (left is for disabilities). You then weave through the queue, which can be as short as ten minutes, or as long as twenty. You show your park ticket for EACH person you want included to meet the Princesses and they will stamp your ticket. Only the number stamped on the ticket will be allowed to go in.
When your time slot is valid (half hour window) you then enter via the Pavillion doors, and wait for it. Queue again *sigh* for roughly an HOUR. May was 90 minutes!! WITH a ticket.

Those with disabilities that hold a Priority or Easy Access Pass, queue to the left for tickets. The CM will check your pass, show you the time slots available and you can pick which one is convenient. You will then get your ticket. They will stamp it according to your level of pass for numbers, though it's mostly 3-4 people regardless of pass held.
You then make your way to the exit for your time slot, ring a bell, and a CM with escort you through to meet the Princesses. You can also see who there is on the screens and you can choose (remember some disabilites can't deal with surprises or the unknown so this is brilliant!) who you want to meet. You will be in and out within 5 minutes :)

That doesn't happen now, the process is to issue tickets until all is gone. No seperate issue times :)

They will decided upon a process for this one day, and stick to it.

Oh I know!! This was the third time in three trips :-/ But this system did seem to work - downside is you need to be there quite early to guarentee a meet. We were lucky though as the Easy Access Pass meant no queing inside and it also meant I didn't have to panic about not getting out if I needed too. Made for a lovely experience compared to October, two and a bit hours of just joining a queue due to no times or tickets makes it very stressful. Kudos to all the tiny people who seemed to cope well :)

I can confirm that, last week at least, they just issue all tickets from 10:30 am next to the old mill. We went there twice (on monday and tuesday) around 12 and all tickets for the day had gone, and yet there didn't seem to be massive crowds at DLP those days. Got lucky on wednesday morning but even though I was queuing before 11am, all slots earlier than 5pm had already gone. Incidentally, I had all our passes and tickets with me (with the 'hilarious' result of one of our party accidentally getting "locked out" of the park due to getting something from the hotel without his ticket and having to blag his way back in) but nobody asked to see any of them, they just asked me how many were in our party for the meet and stamped the appointment card with that number.

When you then went for your appointment slot, how long did you then have to wait for?

Think it's worth mentioning the queuing times do vary. We're tied to going in the school holidays, last May we queued for over an hour and a half for a ticket and then an hour once inside the pavilion. This May we went twice - once no queuing for ticket, just walked up and got one and was an hour in the pavilion. Our second time was a 10 minute wait for a ticket but was an hour and a half in the pavilion. The day we left the queues for the tickets were huge.

"Only the number stamped on the ticket will be allowed to go in."

Oh no.....they will stamp my AP ?!!!?

:rotfl2:

No, just the appointment ticket they give you.
And yes, very true, we only waited 10 mins inside the pavilion but the previous days I saw the sign saying between 30 mins and 45 mins wait. We were very early for our appointment so that might have had something to so with it.
