Not only should they let you bank them but the Guide should help you to make your first reservation, especially if you want something this year or at a popular time next year. Get a different guide.

My guide said he couldn't make a reservation for us-is this not true? Could he make one for us somewhere other than our home resort before the 7 month window?

My guide just got called me saying "there's a way around this". Weird that this information was only supplied after we got off the phone and I was "sad". Essentially the action will be what a lot of you have said, call MS and immediately bank them.

Apparently while one group says 'No', they usually say 'yes'. If this hasn't fallen too far off the first page I'll post an update tomorrow when I see what happens.

No, you can only make a reservation at a non -home resort at 7 months or less.

When you purchase direct from Disney (not resale) the Guides are sometimes able to procure the first reservation for the new member. Not always, but they are sometimes able to pull some strings..and only for the first reservation.

Disney has let me bank my points past the deadline a few times as well (sometimes life gets in the way of remembering when to bank).

Wait a minute... are you saying you've been granted an exception to the super secret unknown undiscussed hidden only for special people ability to bank past the deadline one time ONLY during the life of your membersip, and they've allowed you to do this impossible task MORE than once?

I'm sending a letter to MS as you read this J/K... I have about 4 calendars set to remind me of our banking deadline.

Just as an update: MS was able to do this for me in about three minutes. No questions asked. Good idea everyone!

I am glad it worked out for you. We purchased BLT points last February for a March use year and we were able to bank them immediately even though we were 4 months past the banking deadline of October 31st. Congratulations!

I agree, there has to be a misunderstanding. I've already banked our 2010 points from our Sept UY add-on and the paperwork is still sitting here waiting to go back!

Use year. We have a March UY, and our 2011 points would expire at the end of February 2012 unless we banked them.
