Sign The Petition To Bring Back The PeopleMover!

I signed it. I love it at WDW. It is a great sit back & relax ride.

Thanks for the link ! I told my sons all about the pm last trip, it was a great cool off relaxing ride...great for people watching too...what a great way to wait for your fastpass to be up too!

They tried that, with the Rocket Rods and for whatever reason it didn't work. That track is just waiting for the People Mover to come back, maybe slightly updated. I remember taking a frozen banana or some other treat on there when we were tired and needed a rest. Isn't that why a lot of people go on the train, just take it around and around until their feet don't hurt anymore. Same idea, just take a load off.

The rocket rods were an error in execution, not an error in the decision to replace the people mover. Each rod held so few people and they did not bank the corners so the rods had to slow to a near crawl to get around them that it built long lines for a meh ride. And the train brings up an interesting point. We already have two slow touring rides easily accessed from TL that are better than the people mover ever was. Why bring back another ride of that type inferior to what's already there? I'd love to see them do something with that track. But the People Mover as it existed or without major upgrades in substance rather than just style isn't the answer.

My favorite part of the peoplemover was Tron and I sure do miss it.

I loved Tron. Disney never did do enough with it. The possibilities were endless. It's too late now, unfortunately. Tron's lack of popularity is such now that we'll likely not see anything based upon it any more.

Any time I've been to WDW, it's been a must for me, and I have never seen it as empty as you say you have.
On the busiest of days such as the 4th of July or Christmas, it runs at or near capacity mid-day, I'm told during those weeks it runs decently full mid-day. As I do not go during those weeks, I will take their word for it. But if you are going to claim that it runs even half full the majority of the year, I'll know you are looking at things through people mover colored glasses. Put it this way. On a day and time where Space ran 90 minutes, TTA was walk on and we got our own train. Some trains were empty and only a couple had more than one group on them. And those had two. The rest of the times we have ridden it, slack days, busy days, the results have been similar. Not a single train that we've seen on that ride, as many times as we have ridden it the past 2.5 years, or been able to view it while walking, was ever even half full. Not one.

But for others that are reading, don't take my word for it. Let me quote from the WDW UG.

When to go: During the hot, crowded time of the day. 11:30-4:30pm.
Rides that bring in crowds don't get 11:30-4 as a suggested riding time.

Here, they quote a letter sent them.
"The Transit authority is an excellent ride for getting a tired infant to fall asleep. You can remain on for several times around... It is also a moderately private place for nursing an infant.

That one says it all. If it were getting any sort of ridership, would anyone in their right mind consider it a moderately private place for nursing an infant or be able to ride several times around without getting off?
