Sigma 18- 125 lens ?

This is the lens that I really want but as I was price comparison shopping one of the stores that I went to told me that this lens is being discontinued. Does anyone know anything about this?

i doubt it's being discontinued as it's still a relatively new lens. if you want to know for sure, give Sigma a call.

They offered to sell you a BETTER lens that they happened to have in stock

I've had a terrible time finding it. It is out of stock everywhere I look.

it's still in production. it's still on Sigma website. it's still in Sigma's catalogue. it's still in abundance in Canada.


and it's still dubbed "The Kelly"

Actually they didn't. I went telling them exactly the one that I wanted and they didn't have it in stock so he checked the price in his catalogue and said there was a note that it is to be discontinued. I will have to check with other specialty stores as this was a photography chain.

a couple weeks ago my local camera shop guy told me they can't keep it in stock so doubt they would discontinue it. unless the disers bought so many they can't keep up with the demand and are throwing in the towel

I heard the lens was officially being rebranded by Sigma at great expense. After all, it is all about the name of the product that sells. People just don't seem to recognize it as the Sigma 18-125, they are going to call it the name all have grown accustomed to hearing it as:

the Kelly Lens

and they might do it in pink as well with a hidden Mickey or two
