Sig Hansen from Northwestern @ Disney

July 10-13, 2008: The Norway pavilion at Epcot will host Sig Hansen -- one of the featured stars on the popular The Discovery Channel series, "The Deadliest Catch". Hansen will appear inside The Puffin's Roost, the pavilion's merchandise location, each day. He will be joined by his brothers, Edgar and Norman Hansen, who also appear on the show. A fourth-generation Norwegian fisherman, Sig Hansen is the captain of the Northwestern, one of the crab-catching vessels on "The Deadliest Catch." He, Edgar and Norman own and operate the Northwestern. Based in Seattle, Wash., the Hansens have fished together for nearly 20 years. The Hansens' crab-catching skills on the television show also have inspired "Deadliest Catch: Alaskan Storm," a video game for the Xbox 360 system. In addition to signing autographs and posing for photos, the Hansens will have Northwestern merchandise for sale during their Epcot appearance.


My DH is really excited!!! We're both big fans of Deadliest Catch.

DH and I are both really excited about seeing them. We don't really care about meeting most celebrities, but these guys are different. We have a lot of respect for the work they do. Besides, Edgar's kind of nice on the eyes.

We watch the show too. Too bad they aren't going to be there during our trip in August. Would love to meet them. Whoever goes, when you come back post a picture so we can all see.

I would love to meet the Hansen Brothers. I have watched this show since Day one, and they are by far the most entertaining... To bad I wont be back till october, oh well.. Its awesome there going to be there... Is the Discovery Chan owned by Disney?

DH & I love to watch Deadliest Catch - Had to watch it last night to see what happened to Captain Phil. Any guesses as to what's wrong? I hope it's nothing serious. But the way he smokes...

Anyway the Northwestern is DH's favorite ship - personally I like Edgar and I didn't know there was a third brother until last night's "After the Catch" show.

Well I guess I'll just have to got to Discovery's website to buy Deadliest Catch stuff!

I love that show! Was watching it last night. Does anyone know what the real scoop is with Capt Phil from the Cornelia Marie? Does he have lung cancer? That was so scary and then to leave it till another episode...... I watched "After the Catch" and he was there but they didn't say anything about it that I caught. Hope he's okay.

Hubby's family is full Norwegian. We love going to the pavillion and seeing all the stuff and talking with the CMs. His great grandfather (or great great???) was mayor of Trondheim.
