We're looking at taking a beach vacation and would like some help on choosing a place. We need a 1 BR suite, beachfront property, pool, and children's activities. Has anyone been to the new Radisson on Lido Beach? It looks like it would fulfill out needs - however, it relatively new so there's not much info out there. Anyone been here? If you have another place to recommend - I'm open to suggestions. Thanks!

We stayed at the Raddisson Lido Beach over Easter. We had a tower room, which are only a year old. The room was good sized with a kitchen area and large bathroom. We had a great ocean view. There are 2 pools with lots of chairs. There was also a bar poolside where you could order lunch. They provided free shuttle to St. Armands Circle. We never used any childrens programs. From what I saw, this looked like the nicest hotel on Lido Beach. I hear Siesta Key is beautiful, but mainly condos. Good luck!

Thanks Paige3 for your report. The resort looks lovely. We're trying to decide between Marco Island, Sanibel, and Lido Beach. It looks like the Radisson is pretty new so it's hard to find first hand accounts. I appreciate your report!

I have a question about the free shuttle to St. Armands Circle. Did it run at certain times of the day (say on the 1/2 hour)?

Also - how's the beach at the Radisson Lido Beach? Are there a lot of seashells or is it the powdery sand?

Thanks for your help!

For the free shuttle, all we did was notify the front desk and if he was available, we left right away. We never waited more than 15 minutes. The beach was beautiful with powdery white sand and just a few shells. We were there over Easter and the beach was not crowded at all. It was very clean, it is maintained very well. We had come from a few days in Clearwater, and we were amazed at the difference in beaches. Tons of seaweed and dead fish washed on shore in Clearwater. It is a beautiful area!

Hi!
Been to Sanibel a few times and stayed at time share condos.
Pretty Island but I'am a Gloucester fisherman type who likes clear
water to swim .
The Condos have good pools but the beaches on Gulf side are whitish and some strong undertoes on the northwest side of the Island.
Point de Sanibel is nice with your resident allegator.
Precilla Murphy Realtor is a good source for accomodations.
She is on the island and is linked to websites for the Southwest Islands.
I would ask if the bridge to the Island has been repaired before booking. The Tropical storms have taken toll on the structure.
Also South Sea Plantation is gobbling up properties lately, try them?.

ENJOY!!!

THE MAGIC HAPPENS!!!

Thanks for the extra info Paige3. Looks like the Radisson Lido Beach is pretty nice and the area has alot to offer.

MKFamilystone - we've been vacationing in Sanibel each year for the past 6 years - we rent from an owner at the Sundial Resort. While we really like Sundial and Sanibel, we wanted to try something different this trip. However, the inlaws are pulling for Sanibel - so we may go there.

Thanks for the input. It really helps to have first hand accounts.
