Siesta Key...day trip to the beach

We are spending a week at Vistana in July and thinking about going to Siesta Key for a day at the beach…I am considering renting a hotel room for the night so after the day at the beach we would be able to get cleaned up and find a restaurant, shop, etc. Has anyone else ever rented a room when you already have accommodations for the week?

Hi... we always day trip from Orlando down to Siesta Key, we spend day on the beach then use the outside showers and then change in the Toilet block and then go down St Armnands for a walk round the shops then to the Beachfront Restraunt for dinner so we can watch the sun go down then drive back upto Orlando. It isnt too exhausting to do it. Not sure what hotel to recomend but will say you will have a great time there...... we always do.

we're staying at the tropical breeze resort and spa in siesta key for a few nights before our trip to wdw. we've not stayed there before. but i liked the location. lots of golf courses near by. walk to beach, shops, and my favorite the daquiri deck.
