Sidewalks at OKW?

Heading to OKW next week and was wondering if we could bring along DS's big wheel!

There are sidewalks at OKW and places near the main pool to park bikes but not sure about the big wheel.

There are sidewalks. I've never seen anyone with a Big Wheel at OKW or any other resort, but it would be possible I'd think. We saw plenty of bikes and skateboards throughout the resort last summer........

The problem with a a big wheel is a little kid using the side walks with it because of safety reasons. There are a lot of "dips" in the sidewalks for parking lots etc. Skate boards and rollers blades are against the law in Florida on roadways and parking lots also scooters so I don't know if big wheels are??
There is lot of traffic at OKW with car and bus traffic, I would be very careful either way.

Thanks for the info.. safety is the main factor so maybe we'll just leave it home then. Didn't think about all the parking lot's we have to cross.

I live in England and wondered if you could satisfy my curiosity, what is a Big Wheel? I've never heard of one, compared to a bike or scooter, it's what we call a ferris wheel

I would be interested to find out as most things you have we get some time later and if I do see one on our next trip I can impress my son by knowing what it is

It's like a tricycle, but is made out of plastic. And the front wheel is really big.

They've been around here forever, I had one in the early 70s. Ever see THE SHINING? The kid rides his Big Wheel up and down the halls of the Overlook.

the funniest thing about this thread is that DS (2) doesn't have an actual "Big Wheel". It's actually a little plastic red fire engine that he loves to ride.. I just didn't feel like going that much into detail, and figured "Big Wheel" would get my point across.

Well DisneyDad, it gave some of us a little ride down "memory lane" because I was recalling my own childhood in the 70's riding my Big Wheel ...so thanks for that

We stayed at POP this past January, and yes, there is a really Big, big wheel.

LOL! Several months back, I was speaking with my colleagues in London and Warwick and they had asked how I deal with users who just won't listen (I'm a network admin). I told them that back when I was on a helpdesk, I used this... and then proceeded to email them a photo of a Wiffle Bat. Well, they all chuckled and we moved on.

Anyway, fast forward a couple of months, after several occassional comments about my "yellow bat" and I finally realized that they had no clue what a Wiffle Bat was. LOL!! They thought I had meant that I whacked the users with a wooden bat!! I finally had to explain that a Wiffle Bat was a hollow plastic bat used to hit a Wiffle Ball, which is a hollow plastic ball with holes all over it.

I had never realized that they didn't sell Wiffle Balls and Bats in the UK. Over here, kids have grown up with them for almost 40 years.

We took Big Wheels for out oldest two boys when we first visited Disney way back in the 80's! We stayed at the Disney Village golf villas which are now, along with Big Wheels, history!
