side item vs entree

OK- I am painstakingly going over all the menus because I am trying to find food to feed 3 picky child vegetarians. Some of the side items would be great as a meal. For example, in AK at Pizzafari they offer a side of bread sticks. I know it is similar to pizza but I am sure they would like to eat something besides PB & J, mac cheese and pizza!

And somewhere in magic kingdom they have fruit and mashed pots as a side. Any idea if they might let me choose 2 of these in lieu of a counter meal? Are these instances of “ask and see?”

Thanks!

Gina

I don't know about the "in lieu of" question, but, I know you can get veggie burgers at a lot of places. and sometimes, if I'm not in the mood for the actual veggie burger, I will get a hamburger "without the meat" (which usually throws them for a loop *haha*). Places like Pecos Bill and Cosmic Ray's (both in MK) have great "fixin's" bars that are fun, and add a bit to a plain meal. Even as a vegetarian child, I liked these selections. *hope that helps*

Regarding "in lieu of" -- if you're asking about the dining plan, then the answer is probably "no but it may depend on the CM". If you're paying OOP, they'll likely sell you whatever you want, if they've got a key for it on their cash register. ;)

I would ask the CM like another poster mentioned. Anything is possible, if the right questions are asked.

I agree with Bicker, I would be very surprised if they allowed this on the Dining Plan. However, OOP the sky is the limit :rotfl:
