side entrance to Mickey & Friends parking

I read somewhere about a side entrance to the Mickey & Friends parking structure that is not always opened. It there a predictable time that it is open? How do we get there?

Its only opened if Disneyland dont plan to use the Lion King Lot(or whatever the lot they call behind DCA)

I never seen it open on both sides.

The other parking lot is called Timon, and I usually prefer parking in Timon. If Timon is closed (or full) they redirect you to the Mickey and Friends parking structure using MagicWay which is the same way you would get into the DTD parking lot. (DTD parking entrance is to the left and Mickey and Friends entrance is to the right)

So am I understanding that there is only one way to get into the parking areas and they'll then route us to whereever they want us to go? There's no way to take a shortcut to get to this other entrance?

It is off Magic Way just West of the Intersection to go into the Downtown Disney parking before you get to the Disneyland Hotel Entrance.

You merge to the right and go down a small two lane road to a toll booth.

I have never found this toll booth closed during the morning hours of park operations.

Thank you for the information. I'm not familiar with DLR and had a difficult time finding a map that shows Magic Way. I finally found this map http://anaheim411.com/templates/anaheim411/anaheim_resort_map.pdf . Doe this route take you through the Pinocchio parking lot? Where is the main entrance of Mickey and Friends?

I don't know the answers to the original question as we always park in M&F and use the 'main' enterance. On that map the main enterance is on Disneyland way just north of Magic Way....where the road turns to the right. Pretty much smack dab in the middle of the parking structure you turn in off DL Way. Does that make sense?

You can tell if it's open by looking at the sign on northbound Disneyland Drive - if the programmable "Theme Parks" arrow is pointing left then it's open, if it's pointing straight (up) then it's closed and you need to continue on to Ball Road and make a U-turn to enter M&F via the main entrance. Note that Disneyland Drive forks just south of Ball Road and you want the left fork to get into M&F. The right fork takes you down to the hotel/DTD area.
