This side by side comparison is great- and gets me much more worried.

Take Saratoga. Nearly every room save 2 beds and every season got more expensive.

1 beds, the slowest to book rooms are up 6-9%

As a dedicated 1 bed booker this is more likely to push me into studios, thus placing more pressure on the studio system.

Whilst the overall points may be about the same, the only people to benefit are the people booking 2 beds at certain times of year. Everyone else must now buy more points. This is bound to increase studio pressure save some poor souls who cannot affford more points now have shorter trips.

I am extremely sceptical of this whole move and we need detailed reasoning and explanation.

But since the reservation is one, I think the MB would open both sides of the room, so the renter could enter your room throgh the main door. Unless it's possible to ask at check in to restrict MB only to one of the two doors.

When you rent as a 2BR, the comprising units cease to exist. There is no longer a 1BR and studio, only a 2BR, and as such... YOU GET A KEY! YOU GET A KEY! YOU GET KEY!

So, I have read elsewhere that this was done to "balance" the points in order to make it more evenly distributed between the "seasons." Sort of like, we did such a good job of raising points during the summer that it drove a bunch of you to come during the fall and spring, so now we are going to make it less lopsided. It is also really interesting to see how some of the resorts had decreases in 1 BR and some did not - but overall, studios went up. Is that what everyone else is seeing in the charts?

Interesting thought exercise; not sure how it will impact us just yet... Plus, it seems like another tactic to make sure they put a buffer zone around the time period for Galaxy's Edge to open (i.e. fall 2020).

If I'm not mistaken, I believe the 2-BR Std. view in Dream season @ AKV should be 250 points as opposed to 231 points.

Has anyone considered that perhaps this reallocation is somehow being driven by Riviera? If they plan to open a lot of 2 person Studios at Riviera, perhaps they want to make them look cheap, compared to standard 4 person Studios, while, at the same time they raise standard Studios across the board, thus letting them price the 2 person Studios closer to what the 4 person Studios have been? Voila! More points and more money since now you can use lots and lots of Broom Closets for Studios while charging nearly what the full Studios used to cost.

Are they planning to have 2 person studios at Riviera? If so, I might not like it there. Studios are already so small that we book one bedrooms for just the two of us. The places we tend to go have not changed much and some have not changed at all. This might cause me to book 2 BR and invite friends and family to join us if the point value is not too much more. But I doubt that will happen very often since we usually travel just the two of us.

Studios with a king bed and a single Murphy for a child can be 15-20% small in square footage without feeling claustrophobic. The foldouts are what chew up a lot of the space in studios. I can see King "Loft Studios" being popular for groups of 1-3, without any need to discount them.

Combining weekday & weekend costs is a bit misleading. In Dream and Magic seasons (which make up more than 50% of the year), weekday costs for standard 1Bs are unchanged. This chart labels it an increase since weekends are up. Whether it's an increase or not depends on how people use their points.

It's impossible to draw any conclusions about SSR 1B demand from the DVC website. Both One Bedroom and Two Bedroom villas show similar booking trends in the upcoming months (about same number of days where each are full.)

I do not understand your point. Points are generally up, the fact some weekday prices remained the same is not material to the concern. Yippee, if I go Monday to Friday only in one season my 'unpopular' last to book 1 bed is the same price. Thank you Disney, I cannot believe you did me this favour!
I keep a very close eye on 1 bed availability and it is last to go at SSR usually. Why put the majority of the points up then? Where are the 1 bed reductions to the lowest demand units in a ''balancing demand' scenario?

When Disney reallocates the points, do they adjust per that resort. It seems like most ncreased and only a few decreased.
