Hello. I was just curious to see if anyone was at Disney this weekend (3/12-3/14) and had fallen ill. My grandparents were visiting and my parents took them to a two bedroom villa in Beach Club. We had my two kids, 5 and 3, stay with them, and since we have a baby and two dogs, we drove back and forth to meet with them each day. We ate at Cape May Friday night, then Italy on Saturday.

Everything was fine for my wife, me, and the baby. However, my dad, grandpa, and both kids got Norwalk-like illnesses. All were vomiting and had the diarhea from about 10 pm on, with the two adults slight fevers. The vimiting got pretty violent, as neither kid could even have time to get close to bathroom and it went on for about 8 hours. My son stopped about Noon Sunday and daughter after breakfats, but she still has Diahrhea today.

I am thinking the fact that they only two meals, spaghetti (Dad & Grandpa) and Alfredo (shared by two kids) were a coincidence only, as none of the rest of us got sick, even though we had something else. Food born illnesses usually take about 16 hours....

Just curious if anyone else may have fallen ill this weekend.... felt bad picking up the sick kids and for the cleaning staff...room will need to be super cleaned. We did let the staff know as we checked out and they did file a report, just to be sure that any similarities could be checked for issues....

Seems like it is going around. My sister from Ohio got home on Sunday and when I talked with her she said- "It wasn't our best trip to WDW" and when asked why her sons 13- both got the stomach virus Thursday and Friday while there. They stayed at Coronado Springs- They also told Mousekeeping their room needed a deep- bleach - cleaning.
Also My Mom in Fort Myers had it about 10 days ago and had to go into hospital- she said the Lee County hosital was packed in the emergency room with Norwalk virus patients. Wash hands!! and Purell!!
We arrive at WDW on 4/14 and hope it is mostly gone by then.
Sorry to the poster and their family who was sick.

Interesting..... Well my DH, myself, and DSIL got sick, but no vomiting or diahrea. However my 9 yo niece woke up in the middle of the night on friday vomiting. It didn't last long and she was better after several hours?

I had gotten sick at Disney World before. I ate at the restaurant in Canada. I forgot the name. Anyway we went to AK the next day.... I was fine but that night I had gotten sick and was vomiting the whole night. By 5am the next morning it was over. But I couldnt eat any breakfast that morning. That was the day we were coming home. I was fine for the 3 hr drive. [We live 3 hrs south of the world]. Then a few hrs being home. I had a fever of 102.5. It lasted 4 days. Then I was better.

We have had this happen to us more than once. One time it was during our stay at Port Orleans and the other time was at Shades of Green.

We thought of the Liberty Tavern, perhaps the strawberry salad. Shades of Green stay we boarded the monorail, a family boarded behind us and we realized the little boy was ill. Listening to them talking we overheard them saying he had been vomiting for two days straight, and they were determined to drag him through another day at Disney. Shortly after the doors shut he was sick, we figured that is where we picked up that bug.

When we came back from that trip I was sick 21 days, the doctors told me I had to let it run its course:sick:. I was miserable.

I have been told that people from the cruise ship tend to track it over to Disney World.

Our last trip to Yacht Club we were prepared we had that Green Grocer company deliver food/water and lysol. I sprayed the entire room down from top to bottom before anyone was allowed in. I also had anti-bacterial wipes to use. Now on that trip no one got sick.

On my next trip we plan on doing the same thing, hitting the room with Lysol and anti-bacterial wipes from top to bottom. We figure we pay way too much money for a trip to end up sick. So taking the time to do this is well worth the time and money.

We weren't there this week but the same thing happened to us two years ago. All three kids got sick the last day, but unfortunately did not vomit until we were on the PLANE! All three kids were vomiting the entire flight home and this poor woman was stuck sitting with us and holding one of the kids' airsick bags

It was absolutely awful! The plane was completely full and it was awful.

Hopefully the sickness will be gone before we return in April.

Oh my! I cannot imagine what you all went through:flower3: I thought we had it bad, we had four people in room and of those four people three were sick. I most likely do not need to point out most rooms only have one toilet. We used the sink, garbage cans, it was horrid. My Mom was with us, she too was sick. When my oldest daughter was in shower Grandma was sick using the toilet, and daughter was none too pleased by the smell.:confused3

But to be in a plane with limited resources with three sick kids, I just cannot imagine.

I never thought about having one bathroom. Yes, that had to be awful!

Were you on the first floor at least? ;)

My college-age niece was at WDW last week, and ate supper at the Cape May Cafe. She was ill with vomiting / diarreaha Sunday, and on the plane home on Monday as well.

OP-I have read plenty of stories of adults becoming sick,
right after they have eaten,
and had to find the nearest bathroom, especially at Epcot.
So, I'm sure your kids may have r picked up a germ very easily
or ate something that didn't agree with them.
I've seen enough news shows, and they say they biggest carrier of germs are at Buffets.
We were at the Beach Club 2 weeks before you were,
and I saw lots of coughing/colds etc.,

I'm probably the biggest germ a phobic there is.
Look at my trip report title.:rotfl:
You can pick up germs just about anywhere or food poisoning.
I came home with a cold 2 weeks ago. I noticed my throat really
hurt and I was having bad headaches, 2 days before I came home,
but I kept taking Advil and tried to ignore it.
I haven't had a cold in 4 years, so I'm sure my immunity to was down to catch a cold.

Hope everyone is feeling better.
It took me almost 2 weeks to get rid of my cold.
