It's a phishing scam. The note was not really from anyone you know.

I hope it's not one of those sites that can send you a virus just for visiting the webpage.

It is a facebook spread virus. Don't open the link, or at least not whatever link the link provides. I am not sure what it does to your computer, but it does send itself out as a message to all your facebook friends, just as you received.
