hello-i get motion sickness pretty bad..has anyone gotten queasy on this?

Everyone is different but I don't think you will have a problem with Soarin'. It is very smooth and as long as you focus on the screen and not down at the ground you will be fine.

It's definately more visual than actual movement, if that bothers you. I was fine though. The fans blowing wind on you help a lot.

My husband got a little queasy the 4th or 5th time he rode :confused3 The part where you go toward the waterfall then fall to the right really did it for him.

is it like star tours though? that had me hurlin the second i got off?

I get motion sick very easy as well. Most coasters cause me to be somewhat to really nauseated...but I still do them but not nearly as much as I used to. No Star Tours for me and forget Tea Cups.
There are a couple of spots in Soarin' that I have to close my eyes because it starts to make me a bit sick. Spoilers: Near the beginning when you are soaring at Yosemite tha camera makes a banked turn next to the waterfall that gets to me. Toward the end there is a shot over San Diego harbor with the Navy ships below and a helicopter. They do another banked turn here so I close my eyes until the sound of the helicopter goes away. Then right near the end there is a shot going through downtown LA that is sped up and hard on the eyes and mind. :)
These shots may or may not affect you so I would take a chance and keep your eyes open. If the camera makes a movement you don't like close your eyes for 5 seconds.

I have never had a problem with Soarin'

but then again everyone is different

I tend toward motion sickness too. I didn't have any problem with Soarin' but the good news is that all you have to do is close your eyes if there is a faster or dizzying segment and skip that one. No motion will make you dizzy so you have complete control over it. This should give you comfort!

I did not think it was anything like star tours. You sit in a swing with seats on wither side of you, I forget how many. The seat itself is one peice. There is a lifting motion and the swing moves slightly from end to end. They puta breeze of air on you to simulate movement.

I get very sick very easy, I was fine on this ride. I cannot ride Star tours or Body wars or

I cant wait to ride Soarin on my upcoming trip again. Finally a cool ride I can handle without getting ill.

If you decide to ride and dont like it, close your eyes it stops everything!!! I tired it just in case :)

i loved soarin! there was one park though, and i forgot the actual part, but you fly over something and all of a sudden you get that feeling in your stomach and i heard everyone go "whoa!". lol. it was kind of funny.

but other than that one part that lasted all of .0002 seconds, i loved it... and i rode it a 2nd time, and just closed my eyes for that milasecond and i was fine!

enjoy!

My husband did and I don't ride it more than once to avoid problems.

Star Tours almost had me throwing up after I got off of it.

i did not ride soarin, but me dd and friends and dh did. my dh said the first time he kinda moved his head a little and he did get nautious, but all the other times he said he liked it. also the girls liked it, no one got sick, i cant do those kinda rides cause i get motion sick to.try it though ,cause you may really like it.

Star Tours also mades me sick, but I love Soarin' and only get queasy at one spot. (The night shot of all the lights on in the town and all the cars driving down the highway.) So I just close my eyes during that shot and it helps.

I am the biggest baby, really, I can't do all the thrill rides, but I love Soarin!! Everyone is different and I do know some people who have become sick after riding Soarin, but I can just tell you my experience. I can do Star Tours and the old Body Wars, and even Dinosaur. I also went on Indiana Jones at DL this past summer after my family went on and my kids told me it was like Dinosaur. They were right, I loved it!! What I can't do are roller coaster rides and things like the Tower of Terror. What I have done over the years is send my family (they can ride pretty much anything) on first and they report to me. They know me and can give me an honest report. If I don't think I will like it I won't ride. I would rather enjoy my overall park experience than get sick on one ride and ruin the whole rest of the day. Getting back to Soarin, if you get sick just close your eyes. Don't look down if you are scared of heights and for your fiirst ride you may want to ask for the third row. We love the first row, but it is the highest off the ground. I think you will like it. Good luck and have a wonderful time!!

I get sick during any circle 360 movies and anything that is a simulation type ride (Mission Space). I have no problem with rollercoasters or TofT. That being said. I had NO problem riding Soarin last April.

I thinnk you would be fine.

Good luck!

I have problems in an IMax theater, so I suspect I will have problems on Soarin. I can do a coaster as the motion and the visuals match - simulators give me problems.

That scene bothered me too.

I get motion sick pretty easily. I have ridden Soarin' several times and I always start to get a little motion sick. I have found that if I look to one side, with my eyes off of the screen, I can get the morion sensations back under control very quickly and enjoy the rest of the "flight".

That is the only part that bugs me as well.
