Was wondering if others had been to the World and the whole party got sick. :headache: Sparing the graphic details > DW, grandson and I were sick the whole time we were there this past December. DGS came home from school sick the day before we were to leave. Not good. Fever, cold, virus...... Needless to say we all had it within three days. We stayed at POR and actually stayed in the bed till 1pm one day. Unheard of before this trip. Mouskeeping was wonderful.

Purchased the dining plan. Tickets to MVMCP. You get the idea. We survived and made the best of it. Our PhotoPass pictures are hilrious (now). We look pitiful. Just wondering if others had stories and were able to continue and return to the scene of the crime on the next trip and laugh about it. DW is not laughing much right now. She'll go back but I'm afraid our time line problably got set back a little.

Didn't where to place a thread such as this sooooo........

I got sick at the end of our long anniversary trip in December 2005. Didn't have any clue why until we found out two weeks later we were expecting a little souvenir.

That is so cute!! I got sick on our anniv. trip in Nov.-Dec.06. But mine wasn't because of a little souvenir. I was just plain sick.

I was sick 2 trips ago back in late Sept. 05. It was horrible. I had some funky virus. It started on the plane, which I thought was just nerves because my whole family was on that plane. I was so sick the first day, that I couldn't make the long walk back. They had a courtesy van pick us up and take us back to AKL. I was in the first aid office. They took good care of me (we were at MK at the time). I had 103 degree fever, the chills, the spins everything. It lasted pretty much the whole trip although the fever did finally break early on in the trip. My DH had to get two boys ready for the park the next day by himself. It took him 2 hours to do it. :rotfl2: All I wanted to do was sleep, but was so upset, I decided to venture out despite what the doctor told me. I had tunnel vision, partly dehydrated and could only stomach the Mickey ice pops. (A yummy diet.) The only benefit was I ate a lot of ice cream and managed to lose 6 pounds. The only time I felt ok was on rides. If I stood too long or stared off, I felt like I was flying. Like I said, it was a funky virus with bizarre neurological side effects.

Despite my virus, we had fun. Not the first day and a half, but the rest of the trip was great.

Oh yes. Years ago. I was fine when we left but fell ill during the trip.

The person I was with INSISTED that we were at the park at opening and for the full day each day. I felt terrible and it is a wonder looking back now that I did not OD on all the over the counter stuff I was taking. I think I was going through a whole bottle of cough syrup a day and was so exhaused that I fell asleep on anything that would stay still for 5 mins. :rotfl: Finally on the 3rd day I INSISTED on going to a clinic.

And YES, those are some great pictures of me. :lmao:

I was sick last time, well morning sick. I knew about it though, funny thing was I wasnt really sick until we got on the plane. Nerves and lack of sleep. When we got to POP all I wanted was a Chicken Ceasar Salad and sleep. DH and I had two hudge salads and then off to our room. I slept for a bit and when I woke up... well lets say this. DS is now 5 months old and I still have no need want or desire for Chicken Ceasar Salad.
Infact that whole trip I was dry heaving at everything but Popcorn. So I ate a lot A LOT of popcorn.
Going back in 2 weeks, not pregnant this time :) And well nope no ceasar salad for me.

That is so cool! And see you've planned even more "trips". Congratulations!

That makes me feel a little better (at your expense, sorrry). We weren't quite that bad.

Another bummer ( I didn't want the OP to be toooo overbearing). I had found out in Nov that I had a rare type of lymphoma and would taking chemo treatments when I returned home. Everyone asked me how the chemo is going and my response is " I actually feel better than I did at Disney World".

Life is stranger than fiction at times!:3dglasses

Last year, we got to Disney after a 15 hour drifve. After one and a half days, DH got so sick he could not walk. Had to rush him to the ER where they found he had a perforation! Then dd 3 Got strep, then had a reaction to the meds. Then dd 6 got an ear infection. It was TERRIBLE! lol.

We are leaving at 4 in the AM tomorrow and I have the WORST head cold ever! My dd 1 has the same head cold and I think her sistersr are getting it as well. At least it is just a head cold but I am thinking we may be spending some time in the hotel!

I was sick last August while at WDW & it was not fun. My family & I were there from August 8-19 & on Sunday the 13th is when I started feeling sick. I thought it was just a minor caugh so I took Alkaseltezer which had always made me feel better within a few hours. Well the next day my nose was starting to run & while we were trying to eat an early dinner at Golden Coral, I just was not hungry. We had planned to be back at the Contemporary early so I could watch the season finale of Hell's Kitchen. That night just before I started to take a shower I just started to throw up, so it was worse then I thought. The next day my family told me to just rest at the Contemporary & I thought I was getting better, but then during the middle of the night around 4:00 AM I was starting to caugh very bad. The next morning I was caughing again, so my parents called a doctor to come & check me out. He said I just my throat was a little red so it was nothing serious, but he prescribed me some anti biotics. Again I thought I was feeling better, but again during the middle of the night I woke up caughing again & it happened again the next night. What was frustrating is during the day & mid evening I actually did feel better, but it was after falling a sleep when I would start caughing again. On Friday the 18th I was getting a lot better so I managed to meet some friends at the Magic Kingdom, because this was something we planned for a few months & I did not want to miss it.
Still that had to be the worst week of my life, stuck in my room at the Contemporary trying to get better & it's something I hope never happens again.

My dd was sick the whole time we were at wdw the last time, the night we left we had to make a stop at the hospital emergency room and in Florida as well...if I could have got out of going I would have but we had a package...we spent a week , in which time she only went to MK once and had to return to the room to sick to stay....halloween tickets went to waste and the funny thing was people were buying tickets there at MK and my dh couldn't even give ours away, I still have them in my photo album never even used and no good now. She was so very sick it was just a nightmare and we had planned for so long...even the free dining on her went to waste all she could eat was very little. So sad...well we are trying it again in April but without the dining plan, couldn't come up with that kind of money this time.

Wow! These stories are heartbreaking! One of my greatest fears about our trip was that someone would get sick and we'd have to spend our valuable time lying around the room

The day we left, I thought that's what was going to happen. I woke up at 5:00 a.m. with a sore throat. That's usually the first sign that I'm heading for a nasty cold. And, knowing we'd be staying in a somewhat small room at Pop, I was afraid the whole family would end up with it. We flew all day from California and when we finally got there, I was convinced the rest of the symptoms would be coming at any minute. I bought some Nyquil capsules at the Pop gift shop and took 2 before bedtime.

I ended up with a little stuffiness over the next three days and continued to take the Nyquil for three nights. Other than that, nothing really materialized! I was so grateful that I didn't really get sick.

I should also say that we disinfected and sanitized like crazy! I sprayed Lysol on the phone, doorknobs, light switches, TV, remote, toilet, countertops, well...you get the picture. We also used hand sanitizer frequently in the parks. I guess all you can do is take precautions and pray!

But that is what I see as the Disney spirit. Down but not out. Can you imagine if this had been your first trip...........

If this would have been our first trip ever, I would have been so crushed, thankfully it was not but my dd ( not the one that was sick ) was just married and we payed for her and new husband to go as well, it was the first time he has ever been out of NC, we were so excited for him, and can you beleive he hated WDW , he hated everything about it, we could not beleive it, he bit@hed the whole time, never seen nothing like it.

Great minds think alike ;) . Not to highjack this thread just wanted to make
one comment..we have never ever come across anyone dislike going to WDW in all of our lives the way he did...incredible..ok back to sicknesses :flower3:

Nothing to put us in bed, but my boyfriend and I both had bad colds and sore throats by the 3rd day of our trip. I kept making horrible faces whenever I had to swallow (it hurt) and I bet someone out there has me in the background of their photos. But we kept pushing ourselves to stay in the parks(and had tons of fun), sat on a lot of benches. And we ended up feeling drained with the same symptoms for a week after our trip.
