Sick again!

I had a bad cold over Thanksgiving.... lost my voice...... not good when you work in a call center. Now I'm sick again! Horrible (mostly) dry cough and I feel like crud. I hope the whole winter isn't going to be like this. I hardly ever get colds, but I have asthma so when I do I'm down for the count! Anyone else having a lousy "winter" so far??

Not sure where you live, but I am in MN and got a home humidifier which made a world of difference. Best $99 I have spent at Home Depot. I keep it in the loft and fill if from the upstairs bathroom. Does not have to be distilled water as long as you clean the filter.

Oh, I hear ya! I've come down with something just about every two weeks since school started. I teach two year olds and they are like little petri dishes full of germs

I had the stomach bug two weeks ago, and now starting with a cold. I broke down and bought some Airborne...had to try something! I can't tell if it is working or not...well, I think maybe it is because after two days, I still only have mild sniffles. I would assume if I had not taken it, I'd have a full blown cold by now.

Every year, it's the same for me. I get several colds, a sinus infection, and usually the stomach bug twice. The joys of teaching toddlers!

I hope you feel better soon!!! (FWIW, my friend swears by her air purifier and has told me several times to buy one. I should probably look into it!)

Very sorry you're sick, it's been a crud fall/winter for us too this fall. We've probably already all had 4 colds each so far. They're not severe, just last FOREVER.

DD16 has been in the hospital almost 7 weeks now, with no discharge date in sight.

She's getting quite depressed that she's missed most of her senior year so far. (Prior to this hospitalization, she was hospitalized four other times Sept-Oct).

I wish she would just get well so she can get the heck out of this hospital room!

Yes, it's not a contest, but I think my DD's got you beat. She missed Thanksgiving at home, and now she'll miss Christmas and New Years. And it sucks.

I really hope that Karma isn't looking at this, but knock on wood, other than DS with pneumonia a while back, we have been healthier this year than any other I can remember. I am quite surprised because DD is dorming. Thought the new kids germs would be attacking.

So I guess instead of one upping you all, I am two-downing. (I know it doesn't make any sense, but I couldn't think of a phrase that fit)

I am sending healthy vibes to everyone. It really does suck to be sick!!

I really do hope you all get better soon.

And while I do clean and lysol, since I am unable to do as much as I used to, we are healthier, now lets try and explain that one!!

I hope all the sickos feel better soon! I would hug you, but I've got the nasties too. Head and chest cold and now an ear infection (I get them just like I did as a kid!). BUT, I have to say I'm sooooo grateful. I normally get a bad cold or other ailment right after Thanksgiving, near the beginning of December, but this year I didn't -- and that's when we took our WDW trip. So I can't complain about being sick now!

DD and I have had a bad few weeks. Got a super nasty stomach virus at Disney, then came home Friday, now we have colds. Ugh. I know it's nothing in comparison, but it still stinks.

To the op, I wanted to suggest drinking oj to you. I drink it at night before I go to bed and it helps break up the congestion that I wake up with in the am.

I am always, always sick. in Fall of '07 though, I had mono and had to withdraw from school. Lost a whole semester. That was the worst.

Oh yeah, and I'm on the tail end of a nasty cold right now!
