We are flying back home out of CDG airport in Sept. With our last night being at the Disneyland Paris Resort. I am wondering which of these two would be our best option and what the differences are? I know TPV is quicker but is there any other differences. Like is the train futher to the gates of the airport or parks or same distance etc.

If theres a TGV that leaves DLP to get you to CDG around 2 hours before your flight time (3 hours if its the US you're flying to) then I'd go with the TGV every time. No contest, its the fastest way of getting there, and may be the cheapest too.

The train station at DLP is next to the Village, and the train station at CDG is inside terminal 2. If you are flying from terminal 1 or terminal 3 there is a free inter-rail service within the airport to get you around.

TGV was 20Euros each for an adult single trip when I checked on Sunday. Only takes 10-11 minutes and the stations pretty much as close as you can get.

I am flying to NYC so I would want to get there 3hours before then which is completely doable. On the TPV site it says CDG1 and CDG2 what are the difference?

I don't know to be honest - the TGV only comes into terminal 2 at CDG.

Who are you flying with and what is the TPV site ? :confused3

The TGV - Train à Grande Vitesse stops at T2 as Elaine says

CDG1 is T(erminal)1 and CDG2 is T(erminal)2

The Paris-Charles de Gaulle SNCF station is located between terminals 2C-2D and 2E-2F.
The station is called "Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2 - TGV".

Getting to or leaving Paris-Charles de Gaulle:
Terminals 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, 2E, 2F are accessible via the moving walkways.
For terminals 2A and 2B we advise you to take the line 1 shuttle.
For terminals 1 and 3 take the free CDGVAL shuttle train.
Terminal 2G is linked to terminals 2C, 2D, 2E, 2F and SNCF station by the free N2 shuttle.

:)

I would say that a shuttle would be easier if you have a reasonable amount of luggage, as it's door to door. The actual journey time may be much quicker but you still have to get to and from the stations. Depends how many of you will be travelling to see if it's worth it.

So glad you asked this question, i was wondering the exact same question :thumbsup2

My husband and i fly out of CDG for Australia late afternoon on a Saturday in September, and are coming from DLP. The TGV train timetables don't seem to be available for September yet - at least on the Australian booking page. I am keen to see how the times will match up with our flight once they are released though. I want to spend the last morning in the parks for as long as i can

look for the timetable for say next Saturday, 16th June. That should give you an idea of the times that will be available for a Saturday in September (the timetable doesn't change much at all for the TGV, as its the long-distance train service across France).

Just be aware if you do take the TGV of the time it can take to move from terminal to terminal (should you need to) as others have said the TGV arrives at Terminal 2, you then have to get a shuttle to the other terminals ... and terminal 2 is BIG ... it could conceivably take you 20 or 30 mins to get from the TGV to the check in desk. We did it for the first time last weekend and I wouldn't get the bus again (but I hate travelling by bus!)

Good tip - so, hypothetically and using the coming weekend's timetable... if our flight departs at 4pm, we need to be at the airport 2 hours prior, would the 1pm train be ok to catch from DLP? We will need to transfer to terminal 1 once arriving at CDG.

yes that would be absolutely fine, its a 10-minute journey from DLP to CDG terminal 2, then typically a 15-20 minute journey (including waiting for the CDGVAL internal train) from terminal 2 to terminal 1.
