I saw in the newspaper today that the shuttle will be launching the day (11/10) we return to port. The exact time wasn't given, though I believe the last time we were at WDW and they had a launch, it was in the morning. I was wondering if anyone has been lucky enough to view the launch from the boat and if so, how near to the launch site does the ship actually get? Thanks!

We saw a luanch on our first Disney cruise. We went up to topsiders and watched while we ate our embarkation breakfast. You can see the white tower with the blue circle clearly from the ship. We watched it go up, it was fairly cool.

FYI . . . the Nov. 11 Space Shuttle launch is currently scheduled to be between 10:30 PM and 2:30 AM (11/11). That's the current "launch window" they have in order to reach the space station. They usually try to launch as close to the beginning of the window as possible.

Best wishes...hope you get to see the launch.

Does anyone know if there is a planned launch for Jan 03? Or, any web address to reshearch this.

We are on the 1/18 Western and would love to see one.

Disney Dad.....thanks for the info and the link. Too bad we won't get to see it from the ship. I wonder if we'll be able to see it from Wilderness Lodge?
