Atlantis is scheduled to launch tomorrow afternoon at 4:30. I will be out on deck on the Disney Wonder waiting to sail
Has anyone here seen a launch from Port Canaveral? Is it too far away for a decent shot of the shuttle? I will have my 30D with me of course (even though I dreamt the other night that I forgot it
) and the longest lens I have is the 100-400 which I wasn't actually planning on bringing, but I could
... any opinions?
Thanks!
PS Thank you Debbie (Epcotkilterfan) for letting me know about the launch!

i had no idea what to expect but i would use a tripod and my longest lens if i could do it over. it lasted longer than i thought as well, probably maybe 5 mins from start to finish so make sure you have enough space on your card and use continuous if you have one. and stand right next to the rail so you can push any "heads" over it if you need to...they can swim to the dock
so by the time i called him an idiot under my breath, moved and refocused it was pretty far up
Mental note, go there by boat instead of flying.
Is there any chance of us seeing a glimpse of the launch that far south?
