Hi,

We're flying in to Tampa next month and we're wondering if anyone can recommend a good shuttle service from the Tampa airport to Disney World (and back)? In the past, we've flown into Orlando and we've booked a shuttle from Happy Limo to get us to DW and back.

There are five of us. We'd prefer a service that is taking just us so we don't have to spend extra time waiting for other planes or making various stops to drop other people off.

We got a quote from Happy Limo but it was over $400 which seems crazy.

We'll rent a car if we need to, but we'd much prefer a shuttle service.

Thank you!

James

P.S. We have a quote from Express Transportation LLC that is a good price. But we don't know anything about the company.

I think you'll find that the cheapest way would be to rent a car. It's over an hour drive from TPA to WDW which explains the high quotes. A car rental would be about $50-$75/day depending on the rental company and any discounts.

HTH! :goodvibes

I agree with the others. Just rent a car since the drive is very easy and just over an hour from the airport. You can drop off/pick up on Disney property if you book through Alamo or National. Also, check keeping the car for the whole time as a week may turn out to be close to booking 2 one-way rentals.

Hi, I live about 15 min west of Tampa and am in that airport several times per year. There is no "official" shuttle from Tampa to Disney. It would be a car rental service which would be really expensive. Disney is about an hour east of Tampa so it's almost 80 miles one way (highway driving). That's why it's so expensive.

Renting a car is the best way to go. The traffic out of Tampa into Orlando is fairly easy and well signed. Depending on the time of day & day of the week, you could run into some bumper to bumper traffic util you are out of Tampa proper. There is also some construction on I-275 on the way to I-4 (main road to Orlando) but it is managable. The construction & traffic is a little more congested coming back into Tampa from Disney. So please keep that in mind if you are trying to make a flight back from Tampa. If you are going to drive back to Tampa, again, depending on the day/time allow at least another 30 min to the airport due to construction/traffic.

The drive is really super easy though. Out of the airport following I-275 south to I-4 East. (VERY WELL SIGNED). Once on I-4 head east until you see the signs for WDW.

HAVE FUN!!
