We're booked at the Radisson for the night before our 1/27 cruise. We are renting a car for one day to get from MCO to the Radisson. I've been reading reports about hotels and the Country Inn and Suites is getting pretty good reviews. If my DH dropped us off w/ luggage Saturday morn and went to return the car, is there a shuttle from Budget to the port for him? How easy is it to take? I guess the reason we chose the Radisson was because we thought their shuttle service might come in handy, but maybe we won't need it?
Thanks

The Budget office in Cape Canaveral is very close to the port. My DH dropped DD and me off at the ship, off-loaded the baggage and they even gave him directions to the Budget office. It took him less than 30 minutes to return the car and get back to the ship via the budget shuttle.

One thing, when you are entering the parking lot at the ship, tell the attendant that you need to drop off and exit, so they point you to the correct place for curb baggage check, not the extended parking lot.

It was very easy.

Cinderella_mom did it right! Have DH drop off the family and the luggage, then go to return the car. Mom can get in line for check in. If you get to the front of the line before DH gets back, they will print his KTTW card, but he will need to show his photo ID to the CM to claim it.

It is very easy to get a shuttle spot for one person with no luggage. You sometimes have to wait for the next shuttle to transport a family with luggage.

While DH took his license with him to return the car, I kept his passport with me. I had been told on the boards that he would then retrieve his KTTW card once he got there, but they gave it to me. However, there was a lot going on because they had just that morning had to change our itinerary due to Hurricane Ernesto. So maybe it was just "luck" that they gave me his card.

Thanks everyone! Looks like we have a plan.

Hubby and I did exactly what you are talking about. He dropped me and all the luggage at the port before our repo cruise, returned our car to budget and hopped the shuttle back to the port. It worked well, almost ideal, except for the families who didn't drop everyone at the port with the luggage first, lol, they were trying to cram all them and the luggage in to the shuttles..ugh.

For a regular cruise I am sure it is excellent. For repo cruises, people need to drop their entire party and luggage off first, then take the car back themselves and hop the shuttle.

I returned my car at Budget and my wife was able to get my KTTW card in my absence. I was gone maybe 15-20 minutes.

We did the dropoff/shuttle scenario also and it worked great. I had dh's passport and he kept his license. I was able to check him in completely and get his kttw card without any problem. (While checking in I notice I'd forgotten to have him sign the credit card authorization form I'd printed but the clerk didn't say anthing and checked us in. We got a call later that night asking him to stop at guest services and sign the form.)

when we stayed at the radisson I returned the car to budget in the AM, then walked back to the radisson and caught the shuttle from the radisson to the port. Budget is about a 5 minute walk from the radisson.

However, I'd recommend you stay at the Residence inn, our experiences with the radisson weren't all that great.
