Shuttle from airport?

Hi all,
We are flying into John Wayne airport and want to get a shuttle or taxi from there to the Portofino Inn & Suites. There are 8 of us (4 adults and 4 kids). I am curious what shuttle companies anyone has used and their rates, and also if anyone knows how much a taxi would cost. Maybe a limo would be cheaper?

Thanks for your help We are so excited! It is me and my hubby, our 14 year old dd (she actually turns 14 when we are there) and our 8 year old son. This will be my 5th trip, my daughters 3rd trip, and my husband and sons second trip, last being in 2005 for the three of them and 2009 for me. Coming with us is our good friends and their two kids for the first time. Woohoo!

The Super Shuttle from John Wayne to the Harbor area motels is $10 per person.

We took a taxi from the airport to the Carousel Inn & with tip it was $40.

I went to Super Shuttle's website and calculated the cost for 8 passengers over the age of 3, going from/to SNA and the Portofino Inn and Suites.

For an exclusive van: the base cost is $63 each way (not counting tax or gratuity).
For a shared van (but you're filling it up anyhow): the base cost is $72 each way (not counting tax or gratuity).

Thanks for posting this question disneyeh, as I too am curious about this. I have read a lot of threads for this and have found that the cost of a taxi differs which each person who posts. I wonder then if each taxi driver can charge more or less, whichever they choose. I am coming from SNA in July and wanted to take a taxi as it seems to be the fastest but have used Disneyland Express in the past from LA and love their service too. It seems to be very reliable and when booking to go back to the airport, you definatley need reliable!! Our family definately has a budget to consider too, thats the only way we are able to go in July! I will definately keep checking back in this thread to see what advise our disers can give us! Anaheim Visitors Bureau has taxi coupons Yellow Cab $5.00 off SNA to DL area. Look under the specials tab. There are a lot of good coupons there for a DL trip.

Or...We reserved a limo June 2010 from American Limo $75.00 one way plus tip for SNA to DL area.

They were professional, clean and prompt!

It was $75 plus tip one way from SNA to DL area. Plenty of room for all of you! When we landed, they were already there waiting for us. Ice cold water bottles, clean and professional.

We'll be taking a cab from SNA later this month. I found a coupon on the California Yellow cab website, plus a fare calculator. It estimates a fare of $41-$47 from SNA to the DLH on the afternoon of 4/28.
The fare will vary depending on traffic wait times.

Sure, I will! I'm sure the traffic and wait times affect the fare which is why there's a range of pricing.
