Hi

This is a follow on thread from my Newport Bay Hotel one...

After thinking long and hard and considering paying the extra £388 to upgrade to the Disneyland Hotel for 3 nights we've decided to stay at Newport Bay (Admiral) for our visit at the end of January. It's just much too much money to spend on a hotel room for 3 nights when that would probably have been our spending money for the 4 days!

There seem to be conflicting views on the shuttle buses, a lot of you say they are not worth the effort. Can anyone who has used them regularly shed some light for me? Do they run on a regular basis? Are they outside the hotel for each hotel or somewhere in between the hotels? And where do they drop you off (in relation to Disney park entrance - i've never been so i'm looking at maps!).

And do they run in the evenings to the Downtown Disney bit? (I know its not called that but I can't for the life of me remember what it is called now!).

Thanks again everyone!

Eloise

Hi,
From my past experience (i have been 4 times) the shuttles run from dirctly outside the main entrance of the newport bay. I would estimate they run every 10 mins so obv. if you just miss one you will have to wait another 10 mins. I would say it takes around 10-15 mins to walk from the back ent of the hotel to Disney Village (and myself and my FI walk fairly fast). So for instance if you just miss a bus it would be 10 mins + 5 mins journey + 3 or 4 mins to get to the bottom ent (one nearest the parks) of Disney Village. So in some cases it is quicker to walk. But all i'll say is if i had a bad ankle i would most certainly be taking the shuttle bus every time. I believe they run until around midnight but i'm not sure, we've always been to pooped to stay out past about 11pm and they have always still been running. They drop you off at the transport center right next to the train station 3-4 mins (if that) to the bottom entrance of Disney Village. I will also just add that we always walk to disney village and the parks now from the newport bay and i agree the shuttles are bother however i have never had a bad ankle and am thinking from your perspective. Hope this helps.

That is brilliant, thank you, its exactly what I wanted to hear!

Like you I can't see us staying up past 11pm...we were sooooooooo tired by 10pm each night in Florida, too much to do during the day! Plus, with my ankle the way it is I can't see us doing much clubbing, ha!

Shuttle buses definitely run after the parks shut at 11pm, since they ferry guests to the Disney Village.
One thought; even given your ankle, is that you might find it more pleasant to walk through the Village back to your hotel at day's end if the queue for the bus is quite long.
