:wave2: Hi everyone!
My twin and I wil be arriving from Australia and will get into Orlando airport at around 8pm. Once we have gone through customs ect it will probably be around 10pm. We have got transfers with the Mears? shuttle bus because the magical express is not valid from Australia :confused3 even though we are going with UA. My Q is, will the shuttle still be running that late at night? and will the Hotel (Contemporary) except guests near midnight?? Also, we are transferring at san fransisco.....will we have to go trough customs there ie first touchdown on US soil...or because we are connecting to Orlando do we go through in Orlando??? Sorry for all the Q's..a bit confused :wizard:

Hmm.. I wish I was more help to you but I'm not lol.. You should try calling them and see if they provide those services?

Not sure where you do customs.

Magical Express is available to Disney resort guests from Australia (and from anywhere in the world) arriving at any hour. You still need the 10 day advance reservation. The service begins May 5, 2005.

The only difference is that you still need to retrieve your baggage for customs inspection, which, if it did not take place sooner, will take place at Orlando Airport. Then you may carry your baggage to the Magical Express bus (same as for Mears' Shuttle) or (if you received your baggage tags in time) you may put the baggage back into the airport baggage system for arriving baggage for automatic delivery to your resort. If you had to touch your baggage at Orlando and it is late at night, it is quicker to carry your baggage the rest of the way.

If you are stopping over in San Francisco for a day or two, you would do customs over there. Then you put the Magical Express tags on your baggage and it goes from San Francisco directly to your Disney resort.

Returning home, you must carry your bags on the Magical Express bus instead of using the resort checkout baggage check in. Then you go to customs. However if you are doing a U.S. city stopover (not just a plane change) on the way home, and also your airline is represented at the resort checkout airline check in stand, you may if you wish check the baggage at the resort for Magical Express direct delivery to your stopover city.

Wow, my first post :Pinkbounc

You are going to have to go through customs in the first City in the USA that you land. So when you land in San Fran you are going to have to de-plane and go through customs. Once all your passports have been checked and your baggage has been accepted then it will go back on the conveyor belt to be placed on your connecting flight to orlando. This has been the case everytime I have come back from overseas since there are no international flights from our hometown airport.

Also, if you are worried about arriving late at the Contemporary (one of our favorite hotels), it might not hurt to give them a call ahead before you go in order to inform them of your late check in.

Hope this all helps and have a wonderful Vacation when you come up to the states!
