Shuttle Bus from Reykjavik cruise port

I had asked this question on the meet page, but our meet doesn't have a lot of activity. So I thought I would ask here.

Does anyone know if DCL arranges a shuttle bus from Skarfabbaki Cruise terminal to downtown Reykjavik?

We have a very long and extensive excursion the day before, so I'm just planning on spending time in Reykjavik for the second day since all aboard is 3pm.

I know DCL has arranged it for some ports, so I'm wondering if they do it for Iceland as well.

Any info would be much appreciated.

I believe so, every 20-30 minutes. On my UK/Iceland/Norway cruise in 2016, we spent our first day in Iceland doing the Golden Circle, which was a very long but beautiful day. For our second half day, the all aboard time was early, 11 am or noon. My friend and I planned to spend the morning in Reykjavik proper, but we were informed that nothing would be open since everyone was celebrating a major soccer victory the night before. So we just stayed on the ship instead, kind of a "wasted" morning in that regard. I'm glad your departure on day 2 isn't until the afternoon!

Thanks for your replies. Good to hear that there is one.

I can't seem to find any information about it. How did you know about it? Did you get a notice or letter during the cruise, or is it on the Navigator?

Thanks for your help. If you don't mind, just a couple more questions:

Do you happen to know exactly where the bus would be picking up the passengers?

Is there a place we can find the schedule?

When we did this cruise in 2015, the buses ran very regularly. You simply disembarked the ship and the buses picked passengers up in the cruise port parking lot. The buses then dropped off and picked up at the Harpa concert hall right on the edge of the city of Reykjavik. Everything in town was walkable from there - boat docks, restaurants, shops, etc.

Edited to add: by boat docks I meant docks for the boats that went out for the whale and puffin watches, not the cruise ship dock.

Thank you so much for the details! Very helpful!

When you say regularly, do you mean it just goes back and forth or it's every hour?

One bus doing a circuit it went back and forth, standard size bus.

The Magic dock is a few miles east to the city, and you clear the dock, there is a shuttle or you can work to the "Cruise terminal" which is a shop, walk through, and the parking lot is the other side.

Taxis are there, maybe better if you just missed it, other cruises will be in.

You can share as everyone will be doing the same thing.

I can't remember the time intervals, but it was definitely more than once an hour. I do remember being a little earlier for the bus to go from the Harpa back to the ship, so we just perused the concert hall gift shop while we waited which was quite lovely!

I can't remember, but a taxi would be cheap. I ran from the port to town so it can't be that far.
