Ok, after reading all of the "spending money" type of threads here I am trying to get an idea of our budget. Help me out with the shutters thing.

1)How many pictures did you find of your group/family (assuming there were just 4 or so of you...one cabins worth)?

2)Were there quite a few candid shots or mostly the posed variety with characters?

3)Were they all great and you wanted every single one? Or could you easily eliminate some?

4)How many pictures did you end up buying?

This is on the 4 day by the way. I imagine the number would be much greater on the 7 day.

We learned the hard way on our honeymoon not to skimp on the pictures. We took many rolls of film and only bought a couple of the ships pictures thinking we had great shots on our camera. Come to find out (once we were home of course) that there was some kind of malfunction and every picture was half black. We have lots of odd half pictures in our honeymoon album, we didn't want to toss them(as they were all we had) so we cut the black parts off them and boy did we end up with an odd collection. We were wishing we had bought more on the ship!

On the seven day, we bought every picture we had taken! There were 2 formal taken in the atrium with the whole family and Mickey/Minnie, one of ds (2) w/ Pluto (his favorite), several from the character b'fast, and the candids of my 2 kids were just so perfect! We did not do the formal pics or the character appearances much, and honestly, I love the candids most of all. The photographer hangs out at the family pool a bit and even ventured into the water at Castaway Cay to take pics of the kids.....they are the best! We spent about $120.....and enjoy them very much!

We bought the package deal at Shutters. I don't remember exactly how many - a couple of 10x13 and a couple of 8x6. If we had purchased every picture taken it would have easily cost about $1000.

We checked Shutters every evening before dinner and stacked out pictures together- putting the most recent on top. We then chose from those pictures. They took many character pictures, pictures of the kids while in the club, and formal pictures. We took the opportunity to have our picture taken whenever possible so we would have at least a few good ones. Most of them were good (the bad ones weren't the photographers fault!). It was a hard decision picking the best ones but we didn't have the budget for all of them.

What is the package deal at shutters? How much is it and how many pictures do you get? I didn't even know about this when I cruised last April and I spent around $120 on pictures!

We were on the 4 day Wonder and we bought five or six pictures..There were some we could easily eliminate beacuse I didn't like the way I looked. :-)

I think we spend about $100. How we did it, we stacked all the pictures in one stack and made our decision the last night of the cruise. This way we had all the pictures right there and could choose between all of them. We will be doing this again on our 7 day cruise...

I don't remember the specifics of the package at Shutter but you ended up saving about $5 overall. We bought the smaller package- 5 picture I beleive. They gave us a card to have stamped each time we bought a picture. The larger package was 10 pictures and you could upgrade from the smaller package later in the cruise if you wanted. You just had to bring your receipt.

Maybe someone else that just sailed can give the details on price.

We were just on the April 21st Wonder. We bought the 4X6 package deal of 10 pictures for $85. If you purchase the package you can turn back in photos that you have already taken if you find ones you like better. We only ended up with 5 pictures that we kept by the end of the cruise and they refunded us $37. I thought it was a very good deal!

If you don't buy them within 48 hrs or so, don't you run the risk of them being thrown away? Even if you try & stack them?

The people that worked there told me that if you stack them, they won't take them off the shelf. I checked every night anyway :)

We bought the package deal for $89; ended up wanting more so we upgraded to the $120 package. Just remember that the 8x10's are more money, not included in the package deal. I don't know if there was a deal for those. Well worth it. I agree with all the other posters that said the candids were the best. As far as stacking them, several people did that and on the last night they were moved. Personally, I would go every day and pick out the ones you like. The crush in Shutters was unbelievable on Friday on the Magic. I would either go during dinner or after 10:00 PM.
