I guess I did not realize that the photos I bought on our recent cruise (from Shutters) were not 5 x 7s. I tried to frame one today in a 5 x 7 frame and it is too big! Bummer! THey are more like 6 x 8. Anybody know where to get a frame that size? Any other ideas for framing?! I'm so disappointed!

You can get them on the ship ;) I know, we did the same thing. Ended up having to go back on DCL to get the right sized frame. We searched all places around us--JoAnn's, Michaels, Garden Ridge, Target, Wal*mart, etc etc--and came up empty handed. I have seen posts where someone was lucky enough to have come across a 6x8 frame.

You could have a custom frame created with a back that allows easy changing of pictures---I have one for some cross stitch pieces that change month to month and it's a lot easier to work than prying those darn staples open. :)

I haven't actually tried to find any frames myself, but I know this topic was posted here before, and if I remember right there were some people who were able to find frames of that size at Michael's and maybe even Kohls. I think there were also some who used a mat to make it fit in a larger frame. I know it's not much help, but hopefully it will get you pointed in the right direction.
BTW, the frames that they sell on the ship are the same size, I believe. (Just in case you know anyone who's going that might be able to pick up one for you.)

I found 6 x 8 frames at Michael's. I also found a great multi-picture frame that had three 6x8 slots and I was able to use three of my pictures from Shutters and four or five pictures we had taken ourselves.

You can also :sad2: cut :scared1: your picture down to the size you need for the frame. I know it's tough to do.

I saw them at Wal-Mart for $1 each and they were nice looking wood frames.

Kohl's near me does not carry them right now. They may carry them at some times, but not right now. I did find the glass "floating frame" type that accomodates a few sizes.

Good luck!

I think it was Ritz.com that I saw them for about $8 each. I have thought about going to Micheal's and having a mat for an 8x10 cut with a 6 x8 hole. We'll see.... a karate mom is going to be on the Wonder on Thursday! If she remembers to get me an album, then I won't need frames! Good luck!

Get an 8x10 frame..have a 8X10 mat cut with a 6X8 opening. Won't cost hardly anything. Hobby Lobby's can do it. Any craft store that cuts matting.

I wouldn't pay for custom framing. It can get expensive pretty quickly. Mat's are the easier/cheaper way to go. Now that said..choosing the mat color..a whole nother monster :rotfl:

Yeah, that's a common photo size for cruise ship photographers. Michael's here stocks the frames.
