Shutters Pictures/CD

It may have changed since we were there in August but all of our pictures were on the CD (one was left off but that was resolved!). When we returned home we downloaded the software, viewed all of the pictures and selected the ones we wanted (we paid for 20). We then just downloaded the ones we wanted to our hard drive. The ones we didn't choose are still on the CD but we can't download them.

Can you arrange for them to take candid photos? For example, of your kids playing in the pool or at the beach castaway cay? I would not like to have all just posed photos.

The Shutters photographers are each pretty much in one spot for their photos. I know on CC I saw one roving photographer, but she stayed pretty much in the same area. You can set up photo sessions with Shutters for different locations I think, but it costs extra and is not included in the CD.

Are their "standard" shots included on the CD? What I mean is, are there shots of scenic Castaway Cay, or Scenic Nausau, Or of the ship, etc...:confused3

No, AFAIK, the photos on the CD are just the ones taken of you and your party. You can purchase separate prints of the ship, characters, etc.

So, did you pay the price for the full CD or was this one of their packages that only included 20 pictures. If I'm paying over $200, I sure hope I can get all of my pictures printed:)

If you purchase the full CD, you can purchase all the photos on that CD printed for an additional cost.

The 10 & 20 photo packages you can get either 10 or 20 printed photos (depending on the package you purchased) OR the full CD with 10 or 20 photos unlocked (I believe you select those when you get home).

So, if me and my boyfriend (we're in our 20s) are in one stateroom, and my parents are in another. Can we just buy the one cd?
We're on the WBTA in September & I'm hoping to get lots of photos!! :D

We went with my parents and sister in Dec in 1 separate rooms.

All photos with the 7 of of us were on our CD, photos of my parents and my boys on our CD, my sister and my boys, on our CD, my boys by themselves on our CD.

Supposedly there would be no pictures of my parents alone but there were a couple.

So you would need to buy another CD IF there are shots of your parents alone (like the formal night shots etc). All shots with YOU or your BF will be on YOUR CD.

You can look at your photos every day so you know what has been included.

Correct, any photos taken with at least one person in it that is in the room that purchases a length of cruise CD, will be included in the CD.

Is it like in WDW where they just scan your card to know which account they belong to?

Also, for the $50 add on to print all the pics, does it matter how many photos you end up with? So if we ended up with 131 as someone posted they did, we could get all 131 printed for the additional $50? Would these print 8x10 or 6x8?

When you go to a photo location, you will hand over your KTTW card. They scan that. The pictures are sorted by room numbers at Shutters.

Yes, for a flat additional cost you get ALL photos on the CD printed, regardless of how many there are.

Photos are printed by type - those that are taken at the formal night locations and the dining room roving photographers are 8X10. Character photos are 6X8.

All photos will have borders.

All the PRINTED photos will have borders? Or all printed AND digital photos will have borders?

ALL the photos, printed and digital, will have borders.

Originally, the CD was the raw photo with the printed ones having borders. Then they started putting borders on the CD photos also.

I will point out not all borders are really borders. I mean sometimes it's just a DCL logo with the ship name in the corner. Most times it's a full border.

Thanks.

Not the answer I was hoping for, but thanks for answering.

Shutters - if you're reading this - I prefer NO borders on digital photos! :)
Or why not provide both versions for the digital photos - one with borders, one without. That would be super.

I too do not want my photos with borders. I do not mind the DCL logo or cruise ship name in the corner but I think the borders look cheap and some are just tacky in my opinion. We still bought 20 pictures on our last cruise and I am seriously considering the prepaid CD with the $50 printed option for our upcoming cruise.

To clarify a little... The following type of pictures will have borders (based on three cruises):

* Photos with characters (except formals or with backdrops)
* Photos taken at the restaurants
* Photos taken with the Captain
* Photos taken at Castaway Cay at the beach
* Embarkation photo

The following will not have borders but just the DCL logo

* Photos with a backdrop
* Formal photos with characters
* Photos at CC at the back of the ship

On our first trip in August 2012, we purchased a length of cruise CD and paid the additional $50 for all printed. A couple of the printed ones didn't make the CD, and some of the pictures on the CD did not include a border - these were pictures taken by Shutters that did not came out good or someone moved. Instead of being deleted, they included them on the CD.

On our last two cruises, we opted for the 10 picture digital package. We got the CD with all the pictures on them same as the length of cruise. The difference is that you can only unlock up to 10 pictures instead of all of them. Only issue is that the thumbnail is small and has copyright information on top of it to prevent you from printing it. But makes it hard to see the details. That said, the pictures taken by shutters are vastly superior than those taken by Photopass CMs at the parks and well worth it.

If you have any problems, the company is very good at helping with issues. On our second trip, for some reason, we could not unlock a couple of pictures we wanted. They helped us troubleshoot the problem and ended up giving us some extra for our trouble even after they solved the problem. We had no issues with the first or third CD.

So take all the pictures you want... Towards the end, look at the printed pictures and get an idea of which ones you may want. If more than 10 or 20, you'd be better off with the CD. If you do go for the whole CD and look at printing them anyway, consider that 8x10 will cost you over a dollar even on the cheap side, so you'd probably be better of buying the prints.

But in any case, always check that the printed pictures show up on the display computers, specially for those taken at CC or somewhere they didn't scan your card and instead used face recognition. This way, you'll be sure they'll be on the CD. Order the CD the last night...

Hi
Will be çruising with my son ans his family , my daughter and her family and me and my husband
Does that mean that if I were to buy the cd and get pictures of me and my husband that would work ?
But in order to get any of the grandkids one of us would have to be in that picture with them ?
We are all linked staterooms but boy we don t really want to buy 3 cd even if the others would be half price
How much for a 4 day cruise ( cd ) ?
Thanks

4 and 3 night $229.95. For an additional $50.00 you can get all the photos on the CD printed.

Correct, if your room buys a CD, any photos that one of you is in will be on the CD.

So disappointing that rooms that are linked together upon reservation can't be kept linked together for photos!! It is not like they charging you are bargain price for the CD, in my opinion it is expensive...even for two or three families to split!

I'm sorry to be so slow, but I'm still trying to figure out the picture things.

We will be 2 rooms: Me, DH, DD, and DS in one, and Grandma and Grandpa in the other.

If we get pics with DD and Grandma, they will be on my CD.
If we get pics with me and Grandpa, they will be on my CD.
If we get pics of me and DH, they will be on my CD.
Right?

So the ONLY photos that would NOT be on my CD would be pics of Grandma and Grandpa without the rest of us, right?

Correct. As long as at least one person from the room that is actually purchasing the CD is in the photo, that photo will be on the CD.

Now, there can be glitches (on occasion, photos of a second linked room have shown up on CDs), but they are completely random.

It's also a good idea to drop by and check out your folder during the cruise to make sure all the photos have made it in there.
