Any comments or reviews on Shutters? We are staying at the CBR in October and thought about going here but we only have 5 sit down meals and didn't know if it was worth using a credit here. Please advise!!! Thanks :earsgirl:

My parents, cousin, and sister have been to the CBR twice, and one visit was enough. Basically the food is okay, it's just nicely presented cafeteria food like what you can find in the food court there. Instead they just make the meal's mix differently and jack up the price. It is NOT worth it and I seriously wonder why they put this at the CBR. You'd think they would do something with authentic caribbean dishes or something. :confused3

Hi, We also stayed at cbr and we at at Shutters our first night. We really enjoyed the food. It was delicious and presentation was great. As for the comment that it was just a cafeteria with jacked up prices, I do not agree. Many restaurants are basically tables and chairs , but we had plenty of room between our tables our service was great and I'll tell you that if we can find cafeteria food like tha here, we will go for it. So yes we thought it well worth our table services. I had steak here and at Noorcoose(sp) and really liked my steak here better. It was cooked just right and I did not have to send it back three times.

Shutters is NOT nicely presented cafetaria food!! OMG they must have eaten at the food court places, not the sit down resturant!

This was our first table service meal the Disney World and it set the mood in the right way! We were SO HAPPY after.

Our server was beyond great. We had a tropical drink (Lilo's Ocean Potion) that was red, white and blue, milk shakes and a coke.

For appetizers she gave us extras - the bread with 3 dips, they were all interesting, a crab cake with corn thing, Spicy Island wings w/spicy junknoo sauce that my dh LOVED and he is not one to say he loves anything, and I had the most delicious salad - a Papaya Garden Salad.

Main dish - the waitress ordered an adult prime rib so the girls could split it, only one was over 3 and on the dining plan so she didnt have to do this. She also put fries and mashed potatoes both with it, so they would have a choice, lol. Dh also had the Prime Rib and I had the salmon. The salmon was excellent. Very flavorful, not fishy at all.

For dessert my 5 year old had the ice cream sand castle, my 2 yr old had a brownie a la mode, I had the banana bread pudding (SO GOOD even though I ended up eating it cold the next day), and dh ordered the flourless chocolate cake that was what I ended up eating. He ended up eating our ice cream. The cake was so great I wanted to go back for just that again.

It was a great meal, a great way to start our vacation and a great memory. I posted pictures on the pictures thread, it is about post 435 or so I think.

There is no way that Shutter's is anything like cafeteria food!!!! It is a great place to eat. My family has been to WDW 19+ times over the past 10 years and have eaten at several signature restaurants and most of the popular famiy restaurants. Shutter's is not Jiko or Cali Grill--much more relaxed. You can find some delicious offerings such as the Island Wings and salad that have been mentioned. The service is not as polished and professional as some of the other WDW table service restaurants--but you'll get your food and it will be served in a friendly manner. (We have eaten there twice as a family and DH has dined there four times) We have every plan of going back again.

I have eaten there several times. DawgpoundAJ seems to think that is the food court, but he is very wrong. Not only is the food and service excellant, but when it first opened I was talking to the F&B Manager of CBR he said one of the intents where redoing the area was to have all entrees less than $20.00 and they have kept that promise.
